Husky has a carbon plastic (or something) subframe, which affects the handling a little. I think there might be one or two other things. Check out MXA bike test section, there are a few articles covering exactly this topic, and one where they test the Husky 144 kit against the 125.

That's what my dealer said.. I ended up getting that 2016 Husky TC250. I couldn't walk away from the deal. The 17 should come sooner though...

Speaking of Ridge....where the hell has he been? Never see him on here any more. Got smart I guess.

Not really sure why he doesn't come by very much, but one can venture to guess, lol

Yep, shorty = zero over rev or pulling power. You'll hate a shorty the first time you get left going up a hill!

That may be the dumbest thing I've read, with regards to a bike's power? So are you saying all bikes with poor over rev and top end power are single speeds? Nice try Bob PA! Short silencers are for bottom end, plain and simple. It isnt a coincidence they were designed for SX... I know they look cooler, but that doesn't equal power or over-rev.

Yeah, its bone stock and just off the ship. I'll be giving it a go this weekend and see whats she's got. Don't really have any plans for it yet. I'm gonna break it in and see what I think first.

Oooo. Looks like the PC parts will be out for this thing in a shorter time frame than for the 125/150.

@motocrossactionmag along with Jon Ortner are testing some of our latest products for the 2017 KTM 250SX!

148psi in the forks? What the...

Must be very different set ups than my crf450 which calls for 33psi.

I wish my wallet would speak up. It just sits there in the corner like a wallflower. It never says nothin' and when it does, it's something stupid like "Groceries" "Taekwondo classes" "Mortgage"...Awww shut up, worthless wallet.

I think I need a wallet that's Made in Austria? Mine is either deaf/mute or doesn't speak English, as it never says anything remotely as cool as yours.

So kryan... did you try the hot beast this past weekend? Seriously... I am more exited about this 2 stroke than a kid getting his first Christmas present ever.

Yes I did! Only got 1.7hrs on it though. Power is good. This bike has a lot more off the bottom than my 2013 and carries the whole way through. Pulled a hole shot against 450's in 30A. Still can't torque out of tight S turns as fast as a four stroke, but thats to be expected.

The back of the bike tracks extremely well, even entering and exiting corner with large braking/accelerating bumps(I was 17th moto). It never tried to step out even with some slick spots around the track.

Even though I am happy with the forks out of the box, they are going to take some playing with. I started at 135psi and 18 clicks reb/comp and even though the front felt descent in corners I was bottoming out off of one of the big triples. I increased to 140psi and slowed the compression 2 clicks. I think this was to much as I lost some feel in the corners. Then I ended up crashing when a berm around a high speed corner blew out, which sent me endoing and cartwheeling with the bike getting a nice soft landing on top of me. I pulled off after.

Edit: forgot to mention about the vibration. Its because KTM has done an amazing job of drastically reducing it. I can't speak for what its like to other bikes because my last bike was a 2013 250sx. My buddy took it out for a session though, has a 2016 RMZ 450, and said its less vibration than his bike.

Overall, I am extremely happy. Power is A+, ridablitly is A+, shock is B+/A-, Forks are B average( but i'm sure can be improved, especially with some testing)
If you have more specific questions let me know.

The bike sounds awesome. So what is the real story on this whole vibration thing? Is it really noticeable? Does it make the bike much easier to ride? That is a BAD burn btw! That is going to leave a mark!

Sorry about your arm. But hey... it could be worse and you can ride next weekend Tongue Thanks about the input on the 250sx. It sounds like you had fun...well, till the crash though... so far you seem happy with the bike and best of all... it is still stock. Sweet...Very nice to hear indeed. I do also have a sx 2013 and thinking about getting the new 2017. I'm skeptical with the whole air fork at this time. I wanna wait for more testing and reviews on the bike before going to the dealership to get one. About the motor... compared to the 13... mid and top... do you think it has the same, less or more power than the 13? I loved the power of the 13 though. Smile

That last question is hard to answer. It def. has more bottom. Mid and top i'm not sure, It's hard to compare a 4 year old bike that was well ridden to a brand new engine even with doing top and bottom ends. Comparing my 2013 as I sold it and the 2017. The 2017 has way more power all around for what thats worth.

As far as being hesitant because of the forks. I don't really feel like that should hold you back. As i said before I am happy with them, but they will need some testing and adjusting. What fork doesn't. These are night and day better than the 4cs forks. I also feel that with some massaging they will be just as good or better than our CC forks on the 2013(which I had done by Factory Connection and LOVED)

i had the privilege of riding this bike saturday for a practice session. being a full time 450 rider, i jumped on this thing and felt comfortable right away. tons of bottom for a 2 stroke and a nice smooth hit mid-top. anyone that is contemplating buying one should.

I know you are asking kryan but IMO... and back in my day... a 15 year old would stick to the 125 for a while. Based on his weight and height, there is no need to rush him into a 250sx. Perhaps he could try the new 125 sx which is lighter and more powerful than previous years or even the 150 ktm. Smile

OK cool. Good to hear. Thanks and keep us posted with pros and cons and even mods or graphics on the beast. I think I'm not the only one who wants to hear about this bike. Tongue take care of that arm

Dumb question maybe but does the 250 now vibrate less than the 125?

I see you feel the forks need some work (hope that burn heals up quick btw) so I thought I'd let ya know KTMWorld here in Georgia has been testing the aer forks for a little bit now, not sure what they've figured out but it's worth giving em a call while you try to decide where to send em.

Have you ridden the 16+ 125 yet? I'm just curious how the 250 handles compared to the 125 now that it has the new frame.

Oh, and congrats on the new bike! Not even gonna lie, I'm jealous Wink

Haha NJ, I saw you and was wondering who that was.
I can't compare to a 125. I've never riden one.
