After a year and half and roughly 8k later I am finally able to post this build. Purchased this bike May 2016 from a guy near state college. Bike started right up but looked like it fell off of a truck driving down the interstate. Even though he stated the top and bottom end were "freshly rebuilt" i was skeptical...

Thanks. Tank was a little tight. The frame bolts worked fine but the seat bolt I needed to get a longer one and add some shims. Will probably need to add some kind of foam at the nose of the seat. Didn't take a too many adjustments. Would recommend if anyone is thinking of it.

we actually got some kind of winter special on the coating. cost about $150 to do the forks and parts of the shock. my suspension guy sent them to someone he uses. not sure who it was unfortunately.

good eye. yes it was. both the seat mounts were broken off. they had a hose clamp around the master cylinders because he broke a bolt off in both of them. there wasn't a kill switch. crazy how some take care of their equipment.

With all the rm builds out there i was piecing together some ideas to top this bike off. one that really stuck out was the aluminum tanks and whether or not to go with flo yellow or basic suzuki yellow. i opted out of the flo yellow but splurged on the aluminum tank to let it stand out from the...

With much help from a couple of friends on the motor, the assembly process was back in action and it was ready to be put back home in the frame.

while waiting for the unexpected parts and my bank account to get over the initial shock of high dollar online mx shopping carts, i picked up my freshly powder coated frame and swing arm. Had my suspension valved and sprung with EVO industries and also had them anodized. added black excels with talon mag hubs...

next up was breaking down the engine to see what kind of mess i was getting into. The cylinder head had obvious signs from a previous piston exploding (not sure where that pic is). power valve was gunked up of course but in working order. The bottom end soon became the cherry on top. My intentions right away were to...

so i got my aluminum tank. they were kind enough to give me the 450 shrouds, but when installed they do not sit flush on the tank. this prohibits the seat from being able to catch the tank bolt . has anyone else with an aluminum had issues with this? any special modification trick which has worked?

is the italy manufacturer the only way to get the aluminum tank? finishing up my 2007 250 and want to add that as the final touch
i had the privilege of riding this bike saturday for a practice session. being a full time 450 rider, i jumped on this thing and felt comfortable right away. tons of bottom for a 2 stroke and a nice smooth hit mid-top. anyone that is contemplating buying one should.
