I think he get exposure himself and who ever sponsors him because he is at such a disadvantage on the 125 that people pull for him because he's a huge underdog. If he was on a 250f most people would not care who he was unless he was knocking out top 10 finishes every week.

Not racing at a competitive level? Are you crazy 60+ people try to qualify for those positions. How is that not racing at a competitive level in the AMA pro motocross..

I don't understand those guys who don't like that Steinke is running 125 two stroke in the races. Do you hate him because he is beating riders with 250f's and qualify's for the races? I think Steike is what motocross is all about. Having fun with your bike!

Today's factory riders are like robots. They have very little personality and podium speeches are consisting only list of their sponsors.I admire their dedication to the sport but in my opinion it has made our sport much more duller. Steinke is breath of fresh air for the sport.

I think Steinke gives the crowd what they want. Most of the hardcore motocross fans love see 125 screaming and making those huge jumps. I hope he stays with the 125 and can get even faster on that thing.

So, is that an actual 125 or a 144? Are 144cc bikes allowed in the 250 class or does the AMA only allow the 4 strokes to cheat?

I take it you've never ridden a bicycle, much less a dirt bike. I'd suggest you pick up a XR200 and give it a try.

I don't think he's interested in cheating, he seems to have more integrity than that. Being jlaw popular isn't a good thing, there's a reason jlaw is at home riding by himself while Dungey is pulling in the cash with a number 1 plate.
Also the new 125 KTM/Husky can't be stroked as far as I know, they made the cases as small as possible. Besides it's easier to measure stroke than bore, wouldn't even need to protest. Only takes a minute to pull the spark plug and measure the stroke while nobody is looking.
The 250fs are very fast, and I'd like to see him be able to run a 144, but I just don't see it happening.

He can race motocross at the top of the sport and put a few bucks in his pocket on the 125 or sit at home. Nobody was giving him a ride. The guy loves to race and that makes the underdog 125 thing even cooler.

I think it's great that he's keeping the 2 stroke flame burning. But I don't buy the argument that no one gives a shot about the 19th place guy on a 250f. If you don't care about EVERY rider in a national moto then you an armchair fan. These are the 1%ers of our sport, the elite. If you don't consider every one of them worthy then you have obviously never tried to qualify for an AMA National MX. trust me when I say it is the most eye opening experience you'll ever have.
