Check this one out. I tell him it's a 97 and proceed to offer him accordingly and he writes back and says, "Your an idiot and no." Should I write back and say, "Did you mean you're?"

I got 1700 for my pretty clean 02 CR125 in January in Michigan which I thought was a good deal for both parties.
Looking this morning everything is priced sky high...and all of them likely need work of some kind.
500's justify the high price, only because there is an extremely limited supply and the 06+ YZ250 because its still being produced.
Fast forward to 2015. Ive put an entire race season on the bike, but also rebuilt it from the ground up including SSS suspension oversized tank ect...Sold it for 3750
I also found my RM250 on facebook for 1500. It needed some TLC but was still in really good condition. Fortunately the guy got tired of the PC Works pipe rusting so he spray painted it LOL.
My 05 YZ125 i traded some kid across for an old 06 KX450 (with a busted shock..) I had gathering dust in the back of the shop.
This ad has potential
That's how it is in Canada. Except with every bike.
One guy even had in his description "air filter cleaned every 20 hours".
Not true you just have to look hard and BRING cash don't 'Would ya take' over the phone.
I got a 2013 kx250f with the tits still on the original tires for $4000 Canadian US$2,986.47 and just got a 2010 kx450f with lots of extra's for $3500 Canadian US$2,613.16[/u]
The Honda 2-strokes are the worst. These guys think they are frickin collectors items. The YZ's and KTM's are still made and they are better than any used Honda 2-stroke available.
I've actually slowed down the 2-stroke demand a little by allowing some nostalgic old guys to ride my YZ125 and YZ250. They read all the buzz on line and start thinking they want to do a CL fixer upper. I let them try mine and a few of them pulled back in after like 1 lap and said "man, I have no idea how we rode these back in the day" or "I have no idea how you guys rode these" from the guys who got in the sport after the 4-stroke era.

I was specifically shopping for a lightly used late model ktm, finally came across the right one but I waited a while and paid a fair price for it. I don't really know what the market is like on the last of the hon, kawi, and suz around here
here is a good one for a project took me 30 seconds of looking

Find one of those in PA, NY, or NJ
2000 KX250 I got for $500 from a neighbor. Had the suspension revalved and replaced a bunch of small stuff, now it feels brand new. I have $1600 total into it now. Craigslist is crazy, I'm seeing the same bike for as high as $2900, roached.
Most are pure crap.
YZ125H1 has his act together concerning costs. Many are money pits. But...
I recently bought my 2005 CR125R for $1600 EXPECTING to throw a ton of cash at it. All I wanted to do was see if it started and ran. Was GTG.
Amazingly, it had great compression. 175 psi after 17 kicks cold. Don't care, yippie shit. All will be replaced and repaired as best I can to a known good condition. It IS my machine, after all.
I am on vacation, and hand detailing EVERY part, replacing many parts that are still serviceable. It is only $$$ and time. You can spend all that how you deem fit. Plus, it is a hell of a lot of fun ensuring everything is done correctly by YOU. Can't blame "That Asshole".
I think it is unrealistic to find a 10+ year old amateur owned bike in prime riding condition. Some get "lucky", I guess. I never plan on "Luck". Just hard work, and love of labor to get it RIGHT.
I'll have $3000+ or so into the bike overall, but certainly will know where it stands and roll with confidence.
Same deal I am going through. Good Luck! Looks like ya got it! Hell, I took a shower with my subframe to spiff it up and degrease... Kinda creepy... LOL!
I know you mentioned one of the gas tank bolt holes is messed up but if you want to have your tank looking like new check out this guy's method (he has an add'l video on his youtube channel as well). Time consuming for sure but it'll look brand new when done. Cheap as well. All it requires is some varying grits of sandpaper and a buffing wheel/pad. I'm going to give this a try on my '97 CR 125 tank (when I find the ambition lol).
