So I have both a 2016 YZ125 and 250F, thinking about selling the 250F as I never ride it now because I am in love with my 125. Thoughts?

Im fearful of regretting selling it. I got the bike at such a great deal and its new and fresh. But I just can't put my 125 down, Im a much better rider on the 125 too. Just makes it hard to justify keeping the 250f but nice to have so makes it hard to get rid of too. lol.

The other side to my argument. I already have as many hours on my 1 month old 2 stroke as I do on my 250f, and Im better on my 125, love my 125 more and just feel the 250f would collect dust, whereas I can sell it for what I bought it for and come out even, put the money towards later down the road/rainy day fund. But the MX junky in me wants to have both. Financial wise adult says stop being selfish and be grateful you even have one bike and sell it and save for house, pay off debt, etc.

Keep it man! You have the perfect combo. I rode a 2016 Yamaha 250F and it was amazing. You got a great deal on it so it is easy to justify keeping it. I have a super trick 2002 CR125 and LOVE it, and I also have a 2013 CRF 250 and love that too. I could sell either one for the same reasons but fuck that. I love having the choice and I don't spend shit on myself otherwise so I'm keeping both. My only upgrade would be to the Yamaha four banger, but that might be pushing it...

If you aren't going to ride it, sell it and put the money away for a while. Don't use it for responsible reasons yet. If you end up regretting it, you can always go back and buy something equivalent. But if you hang onto it, it's just going to lose value. Hedge your bets.

If you don't ride it sell it. The sooner you sell it the more you will get back. Every year that goes by, it gets older and decreases value.

Sell 250F. Buy another 125. Make it a 144. Problem solved. You'll be so pissed you can't ride em both at the same time...

I was going to say exactly this or sell it and get yourself a YZ2 50 two-stroke to complete the cycle

For some reason I can't edit my post on my iPad but let me say this I absolutely love my YZ250 two-stroke I would love to get a 125 to go with it as well but the YZ250 is every bit as fun as the YZ125 with more power.

Sell it. Make sure to create a "spoke with my wallet" when you inevitably end buying one again about 6 months from now Wink

Sell it while you can get what you paid for it and get a YZ250.

I'm on this boat. Think I'm going to finally sell my '08 CRF and go with a new YZ 250 myself.

On another note, I decided to keep both bikes guys. Though I will likely be on my 125 most of the time, life is about variety which is why I even picked up the 125 in the first place. Still love the sound of a thumper too, so she'll just be another bike in the collection. But yes someday a 250 smoker would be nice to have too. GF has been wanting to ride so a ttr may be next. Laughed when she asked/thought she could learn to ride on the 125 or 250F. Appreciate everyone's opinions. Both bikes are two different machines. And I love both of them, just happen to love the 125 more.

I grew up riding the sand pits and still go out there once in awhile. Stick to etown and millville for the most part. If you ever see a suzuki w/ 927 say hey.

What chain lube are you using on your 125 vs 250F? Also I heard x ring chains are good.

I use maxima chain wax on both my bikes, standard ERT2 DID chains, which have never let me down. Never messed with X-ring chains. Its all about maintenance.

Its like have a Brunet and a Redhead at the same time. I'm sure most guys would keep both if they could. But that's a much bigger pipe dream then keeping two awesome bikes. Keep em both.

Hey Pete, I noticed in another thread you picked up a new YZ250? Are you going to go to another ESR 325 kit? I have a YZ250 too and need more HP, thinking ESR or updating my 02 KX500 with a Tom Morgan engine & newer '14 KX250f SFF Spring forks?

I have a yz125 and 250, both 2 strokes. Its really hard to ride both at once! Lol, Even just going back and forth is a bitch. Hop on the 250 and suddenly im looping out and over jumping everything.

You know I was always a head case when it came to switching out bikes...until I took over riding my son's 125. It is crazy because everything else I ride seems brutally powerful and handles like a tool shed in a mud slide. I just deal with it now. I can jump on my buddies bikes with their handlebars dropped in my lap, or with their shaved seat- even though my get away sticks normally require a jacked up seat, I'm pretty much good to go.

If we all had 125s the moto world would be one big riot of take outs and laughs!
