I agree he owes us nothing about his personal life but his present and future racing plans he does owe us, tickets will or will not be bought depending on it. People will make plans depending on it so HE DOES owe us information about his "racing" life.
One rider is too whiny and Kardashian , one doesn't update the fans and has a boring personality, one can't read a rule book and made a TV show, one is too boring and wins championships because others are out, etc...
How bout we don't be so critical of the guys who race dirt bikes for a living.
You Can't help whining about the whiners
He needs a toasted BLT with pate', strawberry jelly, marshmallow fluff, lard, butter, waffle fries, fried sugar cubes and pork knuckle!
Instant happiness and communicator!
What did he have to say about RV?
They are the ones paying through the turnstile to watch him race , they buy the merchandise , they buy the replica gear , they buy the bike he rides etc etc ,
Were exactly do you think the money he gets from his sponsorship deals comes from ?
Pit Row
As a result , as I understood from conversations that I had in Italy, the team were organizing an independent medical exam , so that they could make decisions as to where to go next. That info came from people that are in a position to know, I had the feeling that there was more info known, but nobody wanted to be 'the person' to come out and say it .
I think he is done, and the quest to recover monies is underway. Don't expect to see him any time soon.. I would like to be wrong, but as time passes, I think it is looking that way.
Needless to say i was very happy when he lined up at the first GP. I did not expect him to completely destroy the opposition, but i really gave him a chance at the tittle. In my book he is one of the best riders ever. But i'm really bummed at how it all turned out. Not only bummed about his crash in Italy and his injury, i'm really disappointed in his attitude after his crash. Is it really that hard to let the fans know what the plans are ? Is it really that hard to keep his team up to date on what is going to happen next ?
Do you guys know what the rumours are on the track ? Well.. people say the RV isn't injured. That his injury is just an excuse not to ride anymore. That it was all decided beforehand. That, if he would see that he was not strong enough to become world champion, he would fake an injury just to get out of it.
Can you blame the guys who started these rumours ? Well... i'm afraid not. All RV has to do is keep us updated but in refusing to do so he is actually feeding the rumours. How difficult is it to post a tweet on how you are doing ? How difficult is it top update the facebook page with news if you started riding again ? How difficult is it to post some news on your own website with what the plans are next ?
There are several reasons why those rumours start. Here are a few...
1. The crash in Italy looked really painfull, and i'm sure he hurt himself. But is he really not able to ride ?
Only 1 week after his crash RV was seen in Valkenswaard riding around on his pitbike. So only 1 week after his crash he could allready sit down. We are now allready 9 weeks after his crash. Is it really still impossible to ride a dirtbike ? Have you seen in what state other riders are ? They are riding... so why can't RV ?
2. RV went to a doctor in Belgium who, on april 23rd, confimed that RV had broken his tailbone in 4 places. Now, I know that doctor well. He's an expert on motorcross riders. I think almost every GP rider goes to that doctor. Not only GP riders, Dean Wilson made the trip from the states to Belgium to visit that same doctor back in April.
So far so good. But then RV goes for another opinion back in the USA and over there the doctor says that he has not only broken his tailbone but that he also compressed his L4 vertebrae in that crash. Well... i don't believe for 1 minute that the doctor in Belgium did not see that. Is it true ? Or is it an excuses not to show up at the startline ?
3. Look at that picture taken last weekend. Does he look hurt to you ? I'm not saying he is 100% but i'm sure that if Cairoli can ride with a busted elbow and 2 broken bones in his hand, RV can ride as well.
I understand the statement that RV owes us nothing. Is that really so ? If there were no fans there would be no professional mx riders. RV has made a lot of money. He's only 26 and he has made enough to sit on his ass for the rest of his life. We have not payed him, but if it weren't for us he would not be the milionair he is today.
And maybe he owes us nothing. But doesn't he owe the team ? Shouldn't he be telling them what the plans are ? It can't be that difficult, can it ?
I really think RV underestimated the challenge of the GP circus. Hell, even i thought he was going for the title. And yes, he maybe won a GP but he did not dominate at all. Worse, after only 7 moto's he was allready 1 moto behind in the point standings. I bet he didn't expect that. I know i didn't. So now people start saying that his injury is a cover not to ride again. Maybe if RV would keep the fans updated rumours like that would not start.
I really hope to see RV back in the GP circus. I really was looking forward to see him tackle Lommel. But if he only comes back for the final GP in Glen Helen he might as well stay away all together. I really am not waiting for him to show how fast he is on home turf. I know he is fast there. I wanted to see how he would preform elsewhere.
Rv lost a fan in me. I know he doesn't care, i know he will not loose a minute sleep over it. But i really think he could be a little more friendly towards his fans.
Can't say I'll miss him as I wasn't much of a fan.

It hurt for about 1 year, and i think it wasnt even broken, just badly bruised.
