Bringing back the SX 380! Even the old engine in a new chassis would be a great bike.

the 300sx is a perfecr mx bike. ive ridden 500's and have zero interest in them lol! I don't know how much better a bike can be than the 300sx, mine is apsolutley insane!, I had jbonemotorworks port/polish and a 38mm carb and I garuntee if you road it u would want one too!

Only big bore I have ever ridden was a 2000ish CR500. Crazy bike, but I could see the potential for sure. Its fun to think what a 500 smoker could have been with 15 more years of development.

Here's what would fit the KTM way of doing things. Bring back the 495 which was suppose to be a stupid fast bike in it's day. Do the white plastics, graphics, blue seat, And red frame. And then sell a limited number like they do the factory edition. People would be all over them in no time

I'd like an sx400 please. Make it super light with nothing in the transmission but 3rd gear, the rest are unnecessary.

A 200sx would sell like hot cakes.. I had a 2003 200 sx that was awesome, and currently ride a 2013 150sx with a 200 motor in it. I could see a 300sx maybe. Not sure who they would market it to... I guess vet riders with no cc restrictions. But then again a 200 sx doesn't really have a mx class to race in either...

I was thinking of retiring the YZ 125 and trying to put together a KTM 200.

Or did you fit an older 200sx motor into your 150?
I misspoke, it's a 2013 150 xc with linkage with a 2013 200xc crank, cylinder and pipe. My dad built it, here is his website Cookseycrank.com

In the OP's pictures, that is definitely a big-bore pipe. I have no idea what they are planning, but that would be sweet if they bring it back.

That's also what I thought looking at the pipe. Doesn't look as fat as a typical 250 pipe.

I would just love to sit on that bike and hug it! Lots of great memories on those. Makes me miss the high desert in Bend and southern Idaho.
Nice bike there.

KTM has been making Two Strokes for years. 300 to 400cc's over the past 15 years. Lotta you all have those bikes? You can get a 300 kit for your 250SX. That must be the most common bike right?

Everyone going nuts in this thread is consistent but y'all are full of shit. Large bore two strokes have been around, KTM and Service Honda. Go pick one of those up. Nice to see but not worth the drooling going on in this thread.

Do you really want us to drool over a big bore that is stuffed into an aluminum frame. They only make the major issue's bigbore two strokes have worse. A new Af500 costs a shit ton and as cool as they are, those motors are not built for those frames. No whining or complaining here. I will just go buy a couple new well designed big bores when and if they become available!

500cc will be too much for most of us. Some would admit it, some won't. If I am going to pay $7k+ for a dirt bike, I want to be able to enjoy it and not just brag about how I own one.

I wish they'd bring back the 200sx
I would love for KTM to bring back the 200SX, a friend of mine has one and it is a blast to ride, always looking for a nice clean used one for myself unless they bring back a new one. Big Bore sounds good to me also.

I would enjoy a 200 sx the most but it would make more sense of it was a 300-380.

I'd be in for a 300.
They a;ready make one.... Sure the SX doesnt come in a 300 format but for $600 you can make it a 300 as if it rolled off the showroom floor like that .

I agree IF KTM is going to do this they should AT LEAST hit the 380cc mark or higher then try to get it aproved to race with the 450's in the outdoors and indoors.

Shayne King was the last guy to win the MX1 class on a 2 stroke. I believe it was a 440 KTM in 1996.

I have a rm 265 and a kx 295 currently, love how the 295 feels, even as a 10 year old bike. If they came out with something in that 380 range I would Def speak w my wallet. I raced a ktm 380 in the woods back in the day and loved that bike. Hope they roll out something new and exciting soon!

a modern big bore 2 stroke would make the modern 450 4 stroke obsolete over night in the snowbike world. i would buy one with a '16 timbersled kit right this second.

500cc World Champion in 1996 on a KTM360- which they later renamed the 380.
