I may say something weird, but personally the "Best looking MX gear line of all time" must be ICONIC: the rider must be a legend, and the gear must have been seen much to make it as a good souvenir. Otherwise in term of design, it is pretty large, even regarding colors everyone has some preferences; for instance the pic above, I am not the biggest fan of that gear either (whereas it may be the most beautiful made by Bieffe ...), but the combo was great, iconic (Schmidt, Rinaldi, cigarette sponsors era...), and represents the start of the modern era of MX with big teams, special graphics, etc.

All that to say Smile , there may be some marketing to do (well except PC, Geico etc), because with so many different gears worn by modern riders during a season, we may not remember them as this one:

Probably the 2000-06 Fox stuff, 2011 Thor Flux Lazer (if anyone knows where I can get a med-large jersey and 34-36 pant let me know), Shift Strike Loathing (currently running this gear. bought it on rmatv/mc for $75? I believe for the pant and jersey (order of pants, jersey, thor gloves, oakley oframe goggles, kawi shirt and hat was $110 shipped to maine) and it looks great!), the new Answer stuff, my god is that stuff sexy. And the new Fly stuff. That orange/teal kit that the Crossland team (and Short?) was wearing was on point. Fell in love instantly. And TPès old thor gear, the orange/brown/yellow stuff. And cant forget the new Fox Forzaken gear. Im a sucker for anything neon and bright Laughing Oh and one more Blush The Fox Covert gear. God damn that stuff was sexy. Sorry for the super long post Laughing Laughing

Reed's black & red Daytona gear was the best I've seen in allot of years (so much so I bought it). The actual set he wore is a little different to the production design and think his looked nicer.

That 99/00 Fox year with Carmichael on Splitfire Kawi looks pretty rad, as does Shift / emig and No Fear McGrath is also rad

Created an account just to post in this thread. Been away from mx since 07/08 and can't believe the gear these days. A clown suit is the best description I've heard, and it's not the first time I've heard it.

Would pay top dollar for some early-mid 2000's Thor/Fox/NoFear...

Not even sure it was called Motocross at that time.. the bikes were called "scramblers" and they participated in "scrambles". I wonder when the word motocross first caught on?

Pie plate number plates, polo shirts, lineman boots with socks rolled over the top were standard fare for serious racers.

How about keeping it simple. White t-shirt. Blue jeans. In spite of all the stuff I've worn or currently have....it is still more refreshing to just hop on the bike and ride. At least till I fall, stub my foot on a rock, or something similar.

Hands down the Fox gear that RJ wore in the 80's. Nothing else comes close.
