The meanest dog I have ever met was a cocker spaniel and her name was Lady. Should have been bitch because she was a very very mean dog.
I did find it odd that Dobermans were almost 50% on Fatalities, German Shepherds 30% and PitBulls 20% but with much higher numbers

My point is that if i need to drive through a gang infested area I do not see labs n foofoo dogs in people's yards, it is an overwhelming majority of pitbulls behind the fences or running around unattended.
Not sure on statistics but believe me people like you are in the minority when it comes to pitbull ownership

Question for the pit bull owners--Where are you getting homeowners insurance? As most policies are null and void if one owns a Pit Bull, Chow, Rottweiler, or Wolf breed.
My family owns 2 fairly large vet clinics in SoCal, my Wife and father in law are the chief veterinarians.
I have been fortunate enough to be around hundreds of all breeds of dogs for the last 12 years, and from my perspective a gently raised Pit Bull Terrier is one of the sweetest and most loyal dogs. Of course we also come across quite a few that have been raised to attack and fight by gang members, and THOSE are the animals you have to be very careful with.
I dont own a pit bull ( we are Golden Retriever people), but my sister in law owns the best funny goofball Pit you will ever meet, because she raised him with love. I would never worry about my two young children around this dog
I dont even know what breed the Grant's dog is, but your blanket statement that Josh is "Dumb" shows what kind of creep you are.

I think it's safe to say, regardless of the breed, it would be irresponsible to leave any child alone with a dog. My brother was bitten in the leg by a loose Golden when he was 10 and needed stitches. The police said there had been complaints of the family threatening to sick that dog on others. He was only doing what his owners taught him to do. I believe Goldens are great family dogs despite that experience.
