Look, at first I thought this deal was a con job, turns out Jerry is riding these old bikes because that's what he has to ride.

Im a converted fan and wish Jerry nothing but the best.

Now anyone thinking you can get the crank bearings at a bearing house are wrong, the crank bearings are an odd ball , not your typical 203 pump or alternator bearing.

Jerry deserves a shot on a competitive bike, not some side show circus with a bunch of sentimental goof balls reliving the past.

Right now 4 strokes rule , 2 strokes drool.
You think people don't realize this you friggin reject? No one is forcing Jerry to ride a 1985. Ever think that maybe some people have more fun being out there on any bike rather than sitting on the sidelines?

Secondly, Shouldn't you be at a donut shop working on your fat rolls?

After seeing how positive Jerry and his dad have acted over this whole deal of getting to LL. I hope they have a great week racing, regardless of what they are racing.

Prolly already beaten to death, sorry if I missed the train. A bit cheesy, considering it appeals some of us on so many levels, and so crazy it's seems staged just to attract attention to us feeble minded, that digs smoker, old bike etc, back to basic old farts. Really the antimatter to whatever is promoted in AD these days.... But I just love the effort. Damn, that kid would probably kills 90% of riders of any given practice track anywhere.

Tnx for reposting it, I obviously missed the ball was already rolling. Grinning

Sounds good 500lbguy! I'm always up for a donut treat, lots of good shops in SD. Maybe we can discuss motocross and how you don't understand fun as a concept.

Sucks this deal went soar. This whole effort brought some joy to it, at least for us (some at least) here.

Have you tried to buy a crank bearing for a 1985 CR250 at your local bearing House ?

I didn't think So.

And for all you little Vagina's that think I'm negative , piss off. I'm just realistic about the situation, Go ahead and wish all you want but old bikes are just Old and handicap a riders ability to compete.
I buy bearings all of the time for work. I am going to side with 500Guy on this. Although, he is being a douche per normal.

Which may very well be how most of his competitors get to check him out.

Any updates on status?

His first moto is at 10:30 local time tomorrow so hopefully he gets something lined up. If I was there I would offer him my Yz 250 if Chad Watts would polish my motor when they're done with it.

Can some Mod please delete this kinda negative bullshit from this thread please........... It is blatantly obvious 500guy et all of his ilk don't have the intelligence to understand what is/was going on with the whole Jerry deal.

Just as a kid (which seems like a nice kid) who wants to go to LL on an 85 model CR250? The kid is smart, and he did what he had to do to get some attention. But in the end, it's not going to change a thing.

Honestly

How did everyone figure Jerry would finish at LL?

I agree.

But he's going to have to ride to get that.

Great 1st ride by Jerry.

Question... in this pic of his torn down 85, anyone know what the 2nd Honda in the back with blue fork boots is? It also has Enzo stickers on the forks... Hmmmmm.

7/31/2013 6:12am
It's a spare bike for parts. They tore it apart took the crank which is marginal at best, and he's riding it in 250 b mod.

Congrats to Jerry and his crew.
I see some Suzuki's, Kawi's and other Honda's on the score sheet. So it appears Jerry wasn't the only one on an older bike out there.
The real fun will be later this morning when he races 250B.
Then he will be on the gate, I would assume, predominantly filled with new 250F's.
I can't wait to hear the excuses the 2 stroke haters will have if he has a similar finish.
