Matt Burkeen (sp?) he is riding B blass this year. Very fast kid that lives at south of the border. Fast as in could probably qualify for a national fast. His dad is the Owner? or GM at south of the border.

Well as is Murphy's law. The one part that didn't come in in time to put in the motor broke. We ended up having to reuse the big end bearing, which still hasn't come in by the way, and it let go in the deep sand of practice. Plans are now that Jerry will race the 07 cr250 he was riding while this one was being built. Hopefully all goes well on the guys trip from sobmx to Loretta's. we were lucky enough a few guys that ride nationals had stayed behind to practice for the week, and luckily they offered to make the 10 hrs drive to have the bike here tonight.

Holy hell what a mess. It's a shame but he has a real shot at doing better with a newer CR.

omg....

sad ending

Can't believe that no one supplied Jerry with 85 +or- complete loaner motor just in case something like this happened. I have 2 93 RM 250 motors that I could have lent but i don't think they would work....sad face today

You've got to be fucking kidding me................. So sorry for you guys.

At least a bike is on the way. How comfortable is he on the '07? Suspension set-up going to be an issue? How much of a hit on lap times do you think he will take?

Chin up, Jerry.......................... You're at LL's Wink

Here is some new graphics I just finished up for Jerry for his replacement bike. We at Impulse wish him the best!

He's ridden the cr some at sob he's fast on the 85, but he's even faster on the 07. He won't be able to ride practice on it here though. His first time on it here will be the first moto.

So suspension settings may be an issue but overall sounds like it may work out well in the end.

Thanks so much for the updates and keep 'em coming when you aren't too busy.

Hopefully that's the one snafu for the week, albeit a big one, and the rest of the week is smooth sailin'

Good luck guys!!!

Stinks for sure I just find it pretty odd they did all that work and didn't replace a bearing
I'm assuming by big end bearing you mean crank bearing ?

You could've got a new bearing trust me that's lot work and effort for nothing.

Hopefully he does good on the newer cr I wish him luck.

Classic big race problem... fresh top end on a tired bottom end. That new found compression is just what it takes to put the old bottom end over the limit. Happened many times before.

Its easy to polish aluminum like that. Die grinder, lapping wheels, and lots of time

We used to polish lifter valleys in 360 sprint engines so the oil would slide down faster to get back down to dry sump pickup. It takes a LOT longer to polish cast iron than aluminum. Die grinder & cartridge rolls.

Big end bearing usually means crank pin bearing (as in buried between the crank wheels).

This is really disappointing.

good luck to you Jerry on the '07! Even if its not a bomber class bike to see a two stroke lay down smoke in front of a gaggle of 250F bikes is going to be really fun to watch.

Cause your allowed to change bikes (frame numbers) before the race. Its only practice today. Awesome the riders from SOBMX are coming to help...Mike Burkeen has a great group there.
