So which round is getting the boot?

I wouldn't be surprised if it just replaced Minny. Same weekend and everything.

Another ATL round would be great, but they would need to have the ATL 1 the first East round and ATL 2 as the last East round, spread the dates out, too close together and GuyB is right, you will get two weak crowds. An NYC or somewhere else in the NE would be good, thats been an untapped market for a long while.

I would think Detroit gets it's SX back before one shows up in Milwaukee. The Chicago market people already make the drive to Indy.

Never happen in NYC. Met Life Stadium is the new stadium at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. Home of the Jets and the Giants. But it's an open air stadium, not a dome. Next year the Super Bowl will be played there. The NFL is already regretting that decision, and trying to plan for the problems the weather up there can cause in February. It's no place for a supercross race unless you do it in July. Same thing for Ralph Wilson Stadium. Open stadium, and even colder there, with tons more snow. You can get a snowstorm in April, with a foot of snow. If it's in the north, it needs to be in a dome stadium, and hopefully the weather is good enough for everyone to be able to travel there.

Definitely needs to be in the mid-atlantic. Nearest races around us are Atlanta, Indy and Toronto. That leaves A LOT of fans outside easy driving distance to a SX.

I don't think you can effectively do back-to-back weekends in the same location. I mean, they do it with Supercross and Monster Jam, but those are two different crowds for the most part. If you did Supercross back-to-back, even in Atlanta, I think you'd just have two weak crowds.
I think you would have 1-best of the series and 1 average CA crowd. Very good turn out

Totally OT, your avatar pic is fun Smile I have one of those kid seats that mounts to the back of the seat-post and frame of my mountain bike. My 2 year old loves nothing more than going for rides doing anything but roads! Downhills, small jumps (within reason), wheelies, etc. However, your avatar makes me think of one thing:

I'm secure enough with my manliness to say that I know what carrier mx510 has and that his kid is in it backwards.

LMAO!!! I have pictures of me cooking, mowing the lawn, WORKING (day job), etc. with my kids strapped to my chest.. If you can see things are backwards, you are a man amongst men.

I get the union labor issue but I still think it's dumb that we have no supercross within reasonable driving distance of the mid atlantic/northeast. I say DC, Baltimore or Philly in April.

I was told it was going to be at a schools facility. I think they just have feld permission to have a monster jam there. This was a while back though, haven't heard anything lately.

first part of this^^^^ but I heard the Mercedes Superdome isn't fond of any other auto/truck advertising on the premisis. i.e. Toyota and low turnout but I think that is due to no pit party. BTW the floor space is big enough to have a pit party or even the street they block off if planned properly. If not second vote goes to a second Atlanta!!! a mere 8 hrs away...

They need to bring back Charlotte and run it right after ATL.

The outdoor venue at Charlotte, under the lights, adds a dynamic to the series, if the track is done right. it was a little dusty/shitty in 97, but the track builders have come a long way since then.

X2, in reality, that place would be above capacity

The Houston SX had the best track we have ever seen since they moved into Reliant Stadium from the Astrodome. Unfortunatly the turn out was weak. Feld announced 49 thousand but it looked closer to 30. I would be really bummed if they took Houston off the circuit, but would understand why.

Dallas continues to pull crowds in the 50's since they moved into Cowboy's Statium 4 years ago.

The have lost money the last couple of years when they visited New Orleanes. So I don't see them going back to a venue that does not pull a big crowd.

Cut the SX series to 11 rounds and allow non-production works machinery, make it invite only. Sucks for privateers but...

make the Nationals 16 rounds, and make the travel route more intuitive to privateers (not criss-crossing the country).

I think this would grow the sport from all sides. from the manufacturer side, allowing prototype machinery, and from the attendance side, exposing more people to actual motocross. we don't load out bikes in to our trucks on Sundays and go to a stadium and race with pyrotechnics. we go to outdoor tracks and ride during the day.

you make the traditionalists happy with more outdoor moto. you make the gear heads happy with prototype machinery. you make the privateers happy with more outdoor rounds and more accessible races.

I always thought this would be a great idea, being the new owner of the Brewers is a So Cal guy, plus its one of the best stadiums in the USA. One problem I see is they already have problems growing grass in that stadium, not sure how having a supercross race would effect that.

Syracuse is a long way from Albany. U of A doesn't have a dome big enough for that. The Syracuse Dome rumor is just that from what I was told. Feld nixed it because of parking issues. Maybe my info is wrong. I would love to see one at the Dome.
