I will go ahead and bring the first negative post about the race. Smile

I am sitting there watching and I'm like they are shooting the shit like they always do talking about how Emig used to race, blah, blah, blah.

They make no mention that Rattray is the lone Pro circuit rider or of what was going on with Blake Bagget. I had no idea what was going on with many of the top riders buried in the pack. They make no mention of Villopoto getting cut off on the start hence starting so far back. They didn't bring up hardly any riders names in the back such as Windham, etc.

They are supposed to be educating us on the race not just shooting the shit. That means telling us where everybody is at, what happened to them, etc.

Someone please tell Ralph that Davi is NOT a privateer. You would think by now he would know the difference. Just because a rider isn't working out of a factory semi, it does not mean he is a privateer. Privateers don't pit out of a semi.

I hear ya, i think Fro and RC need a divorce. You only need Two guys in the booth with an occasional special guest imo.

It's kinda sad, but I actually preferred Jim holly and that other guy (forgot name??) announcing on that new live streaming practice... Which was pretty sweet by the way. The guy with holly was really good and knew a lot about the sport.

Canard was on Millsaps like a dog on a piece of meat. Tomac escaped like a snake oil salesman in the middle of the night. Some will wonder what I am talking about, others will know.

Yes indeed Holly and Barnett were very good. I've always thought Holly did a great job!

Ricky had a few blunders, too bad Emig didn't get all over him on it. You know RC would do the same if it was Jeff screwing up.

I think Ricky and Fro are pretty good together and they definately add some "color" in the booth. I like that these guys were both real racers and can better relate to the fans whats likely going through the riders minds as they are racing. But I do believe that 3s a crowd and Sheheen needs to take a vacation!!
But no one is going to be perfect all of the time at that job.......... and bringing things up to talk about in front of thousands of people cannot be easy! I doubt theres many out there that could do better!

With the action up front how are they supposed to cover any of the guys in the back? I'd have been pissed if they went away to show some guys duking it out for 10th.

Are they watching the tv feed or the actual race? If it's the tv feed then they are at the mercy of the film crew. I thought the film crew did a excellent job covering the race leaders. Not much beyond that unfortunately.

What I find crazy annoying is that they don't use a split screen for replays. How many times do they go to a replay and we miss a pass or crash.

They are only supposed to comment on what they see in the monitor.

I did learn the importance of breathing from the broadcast. Super important that they keep telling the riders to breath. If they are not told to breath they fall down or something. That's what my 6 year old said at least.

Then they did a stellar job. They should have watched from home and phoned it in. Save some money so speed tv could buy a second camera.

The behind the scene's in one of those production trucks is absolutely insane!
If you have never been in one, and do not know what goes into the production
its easy to judge. I think Holley is the best announcer besides Maiers

I've learned to overlook most of their verbal blunders but what really makes me want to throw the remote at the TV is when there's a battle taking place for the lead or one of the top spots and they decide to reshow the start and analyze it 13 ways from Sunday AND leave the audio going so you can hear the crowd's reaction to the action that you are missing.Angry I had to chuckle when Ralph called Dungey the defending champion one time. What got me upset though was when Ralphie "welcomed" the football fans who had been watching the Packers and Vikings wildcard game and he said "if you're a Packers fan you're celebrating a victory and if you're a Vikings fan you're celebrating a loss." Me being a lifelong Vikings fan, it just rubbed me the wrong way and I just thought WTF Ralph, I'm not celebrating right about now!Huh

I don't think Motoconcepts 800 got enough air time. They did get 2nd I the Nationals.........RC, Emig, Ralph Shinehand? Handle your business, make some changes. Thanks

I think they should stick to Ralph and Emig. As much as everyone hates Ralph, at least he covers a lot of topics. And Emig actually provides some insight. Carmichael is suffering the side effects of his homeschooling in classic lines like "I seened it" among other atrocious grammar. Who knew you could screw up grammar while talking? Also, Diana isn't required. All she does is remind people about twitter; A 10 second thing either Ralph or Emig could do. That Rut guy was also a waste of time; He added nothing to the program. And of course Erin was doing some work, but I still think she isn't that good of an announcer.

I don't know about you, but I have never heard Erin "announce" a race. She is someone the follows the pit stories, and does a good job in my opinion.

Get Barnett in the booth for a couple rounds.

I remember when Sam Posey in his gold network jacket climbed the ledge at Carlsbad. Fast forward too many years and things have improved.

I agree with the OP completely. No information, insight, history. Just pointless babble. Annoying, really.
