His Dad and Grandpa loved the sport. His dad was so proud that he raised the most badass racer almost ever. There was nothing more they wanted than to be known as goats in the moto world and they did it. Plus after all those years of them getting stomped by the Alessis in amateurs once it really counted they came out on top and dominated the sport until he retired on top to go down as one of the best ever. He was so proud of Ryan and as hard as it must have been during those years apart...

Team Mechanics not just the lead mechanic and the supportive relationships they have with their riders are under estimated.

If a Top level Pro has multiple great outdoor seasons and the setup works great for him and the results prove it, why can't they just stay with the same setups. Especially if they're riding the same mfg size bike. How can they just lose what they had and have to search for it, if the rider is the same...

I definitely understand the different setups for each track. I guess there is a requirement for riders to adapt to new technology even when it might not be an improvement and it doesn't work for them, as in better finishes. I remember Reed for example struggled with bike changes while he was on Honda but on the other hand, RV...

Any word on whether Mike Williamson will continue with RV or will he be stepping away from being a team mechanic. He had mentioned in the past it was becoming too much of a burden on family life being on the road.

That's too bad I'd think RV is gonna miss him but I hope he has a good team to support him in the GP's. Williamson seemed like a real good person and friend for RV during his championships.

rollingtach Started a new thread What dont you get about injury reports?

5/6/2014 11:58am
People saying RV wasn't straight up with the injury issue and industry insiders are kind of peeved about the lack of truth shared about possible injury and the nationals. Why do teams in other sports not disclose injuries? They don't want to give opponents information they may use to their advantage. The same thing was going on here and they...

rollingtach Added a reply to Opinion on new SX points system.

The points system shouldn't be fixed to help the other guys that lost the championship. It should be adjusted to reduce the amount of points races which can sometimes lead to a muted race between top contenders. They could improve the chances of seeing all out racing by making every other race a points race.

Descriptions of technical get thrown around all the time about these tracks but wtf does it mean? Is it just have to do with the type of turns.

JS described Seattle as an easy track and RV along with others I heard, mention it was difficult. If it was easy for a rider, wouldn't that rider have the best lap times with the least amount of difficulty?

I'd imagine easy to override could be said about any track based on who's evaluating it. I just thought the easy description was kind of odd for him to say. I'd think he would've described it as more of a technical track because you just couldn't blast it.
