Opinion on new SX points system.

In my opinion. To have a much more interesting race night and to ensure that a rider on form who has bad luck in the main has the chance to really make up points.

For example using the below numbers.

James wins a heat 15 pts but finishes 10th in the main 16 pts = 31 pts for the evening.
RV goes through in the lcq and wins the main = 50 points.
RD- 3rd in the heat and 3rd in the main = 43 points

Following weekend.
James wins both heat and race = 65 points
RV heat win and 3rd in main = 50 pts
RD second in heat and 2nd in main = 50 points.

With numbers like below it is much more possible to turn a what would be a very bad main around quickly in the points chase. Every race bar the LCQ would be a fight for the top spots

1st - 5 points
2nd- 4 points
3rd - 3 points

What happens when Villopoto wins his heat while James crashes out then has more bad luck in the semi and picks up 1 point heading into the main to Ryan's 15.

At the same time Chad Reed wins heat two and heads into the final on the same 15 points as RV.

James then grabs the holeshot checks out and wins the race by 10 seconds in a dominate display.

Crowd are on their feet cheering him on and are loving that he won the race, RV rolls across the line in second and Reed in third.

Now the crowd have all seen James dominate the race, but they then turn to the podium after the big main event, the big final race of the night and see the guy who has just won standing on the third step of the podium, while the two guys he just ran away from stand on top.

That should not confuse anyone at all!

How about leave the tried and tested system that rewards both winning along side consistency and rewards a SERIES champion.

have you done the sums on your idea for this season with that plan, what would be the outcome, from what I can see so far everyone's ideas comes up with the same winner for 2014. The same guy who is going to win it tomorrow.

The points system shouldn't be fixed to help the other guys that lost the championship. It should be adjusted to reduce the amount of points races which can sometimes lead to a muted race between top contenders. They could improve the chances of seeing all out racing by making every other race a points race.
