Joe,

You know around where we live that we have to deal with all type of terrain, So I've been running the Michelin Starcross MS3 with great luck.

I've found out the hard way not to run a Maxxis or a GeoMax up front. the Geo max rear is OK, never did get a chance to run a Maxxis rear.

I love the bridgestone 403-404, hooks up great when the dirt starts to harden up and they wear like iron. Still riding on last year's set for the time being, rear is a lil more rounded off but not horrible, front tire looks like a dunlop after a few weeks of riding. I do miss the 756 front tire when the dirt is softer, but IMO the bridgestone kills it on intermediate and lasts 3x as long

bridgestone 403-404 or pirelli mx mid-soft. They're both lighter than 756RR's.

I have tried many brands of tires for all my bike and I will say that all Dunlops suck.!! MX51 hook up only in the corners with no hook up down the straight.. They spin like crazy.. The same for the MX31 my son hates them on his YZ80.. I currently have a Bridgestone M204 on the back of my CR500. This tire does seem to be verry good for intermediate terrain. Also good wear. But, as far as overall performance the Pirelli MX 32 tires are the winningest tires you can buy. Nothing hooks up like these tires do.! They also wear verry well and hook up even when worn down. Dunlop tires are over rated by the media. I believe the Dunlop 952 is by far better than the Geomax series. For me its either Bridgestone or Pirelli.

I love the Bridgestone 403/404 combo & run them everywhere. I just went to Florida & had those on my bike & I also brought a set of 203/204 on my spare wheels for the harder dirt tracks. I never needed them cuz I ran the 403/404's everywhere including the tracks that where hard as a rock & they worked awesome. I rode 10 days & raced twice & rode what seemed like a million laps while we were there & the tires came home looking like brand new. I ride a 2 stroke & it hooked up just unbelievable at the Vet National at Reddick & that track was hard as cement. I love the Bridgestones & wouldn't trade them for anything.

MS3/MH3 are the best in my honest opinion.

Maxxis IT were pretty good tires and they would last forever!

Dunlops would wear out before I kickstarted the bike Dizzy

dunlop has good traction when new but the performance falls off pretty quickly once they wear.

bridgestone combo is decent but I prefer pirelli. I usually run the scorpion mid soft but if you want a good all around tire, try the Mid Hard (MXMH 554). if you are having problems with the knobs it's probably because you are running pressure too high. dunlops typically like around 14psi, you have to run the pirelli tires around 11-12psi. I run 10.5-11 with a good tube (or lower with tubliss). great hookup, durability and feel. plus pirelli are usually some of the lightest tires out there...

old review (the 756 is gone, and the Scorpion Mid Hard has a new version out) but it gives you some ideas of weights:

When it comes to choseing tires not only is it tough to pick the best one's for you but, I still do not know which size is the best. I will always chose a 120/19 but which profile is better a 80 or 90.? So between a 120/80/19 vs a 120/90/19 which gives the most traction. The 80 side wall would be stiffer than the 90 so I am thinking the 80 sidewall is better. What do you think?Unsure

Bridgestones hands down. Geomax wear out way too quick and fronts are terrible imo.
You couldnt give me a michellin to run, dont hook up off the line, have no flex at all (reason they dont wear is because the rubber compound is too bloody stiff!) in short you want a great tyre, with a good life go the 403/404 bridgeys, wont let you down! though the pirelli's arent bad either but terrible life
