Speculation: Prado/Sexton

I wonder how Prado feels about prospectively having Sexton as a teammate next year? I imagine Jorge see’s himself as a 1A rider, and he is, obviously Chase is in the same caliber too. It’ll be interesting to see their individual results and how they react to one another. Jorge’s recent interviews post-southwick have a different tone to them it seems.

They’re teammates in ceremony only. I don’t think it matters. Webb/Tomac, Sexton/KRoc etc we’ve seen this before.

I would think their results will decide who the number one rider is under the tent .

And with both of them seem to have some what fragile egos i could see a downward spiral for the rider that can’t beat the other team mate.

Prado has gotten a real reality check the last year.

He has gone from being a EMX125, MX2 and MXGP champ to be beaten to the ground in SX and not even podium in outdoors. And when the winter comes I doubt that he will be a top 3 SX rider.

So for one and a half year he will be getting beat on a regular basis and I would think that it would wear on a rider that have done nothing but winning leading up to his US career.

I would not be surprised if the one that gets beat within the team starts looking for another team to be the Alpha at, I mean Sexton has done it before.

Well they aren't in same ballpark yet.  Chase is the closest thing to Jett's speed the sport has and has won more races than anyone other than Jett in 2025. Prado hasn't even gotten a podium yet in America.

My speculation is that one of them will be better than the other one

They're both equally talented and fit - it will really come down to which of them can adapt better to the bike and team. Prado obviously has more things to adapt to (no previous time on an aluminum frame, new to the US, etc.) but also will have 1 year on the bike. It will also be interesting to see, if they're asking for different things out of the bike, which one does Kawi put more resources against?

Hopefully they'll hit it off like Chase did with Vialle so in Supercross, Prado can learn quickly. But for outdoors, we could be in for an interesting summer.

Prado is mentally tougher than Chase. That delusion can pay off because he has the talent to pull it into reality. If you blame yourself like chase does it becomes doubt, and that spirals.

Accountability is something corporate overlords push down to keep you in line and scared for your job. It's a lie. Truth is your always accountable because your results are whats real. Not your feelings or beliefs.

Get fat, your accountable sucking wind going up the stairs. Don't learn, your accountable when you're stuck making the same mistakes. Beating yourself up doesn't help you learn or lose weight. Doing shit does. And of you don't believe doing shit will get you results, well you probably wont do it. I say be delusional.

I love that Prado thinks he can bet jett. I love that hett thinks he can beat mcgraths record. Society has been pushing weak minds and acceptance of mediocrity. Even if you are mediocre - fucking dont believe its your destiny.

stepping off the soapbox ...

Hopefully the team thing goes a different direction and we see aomething like the humter bros where the 2 just elevate each other. I dont see either being malicious and playing mind games. With the right people around we may see something special.

Just assuming Chase is going Green, seems to be a foregone conclusion at this point, interesting summer this year for sure!!

Geez. You guys act like Prado wont get the same parts and opportunities Chase will get. He will. He was also teammates with Tony Cairoli, he will be fine with having Chase as a teammate.

This will be good. Prado will already have a year on the bike. Chase seems to be finicky on the bikes so I’m interested to see how that goes. I feel that peacock needs to start another dumb reality tv show behind the scenes at kawy next year for all the drama.

We saw this for a couple years in the 250f class under the Honda tent with Jett and Hunter dominating and winning championships.

With Hunter a very close 3rd in points to Eli who is currently in 2nd in  outdoors, we're seeing it again under the Honda tent with Jett and Hunter again in the 450 class. They finished 1-1 & 2-2 again last race. So we have two riders under the same tent battling for who's the #1, and clearly it's Jett, but not by a lot. His main competition is under the same tent, and on the same practice track

Jett is the #1 by a lot. And both Jett and Hunter knows it. Each time the practice and race, Hunter gets reminded of it, but being of the same blood i am sure that Hunter has a easier way of accepting it than if it just was a regular teammate/competitor.

Since Jett turned pro, he has been better than Hunter and that is probably set in Hunters head by a long time ago, but what should he say in front of the camera when they ask each weekend?.

Well unless Sexton can get some 2nd places or Eli, if Hunter is finishing 2nd to his teammate, thats a lot or not a lot. I mean,.......it is 2nd place! If Hunter wants the top spot under the Honda tent, he's going to need to step it up, but possibly getting 2nd overall in points in motocross this year isn't bad.

I never said it was bad but it’s all about perspective. Sexton finished second 2023, but never once beat Jett. So you can still be second and be quite a level off. Just like the 250 guys that finish behind Deegan.

Hunter will have a great career, earn good money and a great life that comes with it. But I think that he has accepted it just like AP that he will never beat Jett with his own speed as long as Jett is healthy.

The rest of the field have the luxury of going home during the week and telling them self that it’s always next weekend that can try to beat him, while Hunter gets out on the practice track on monday morning and get painfully reminded what he’s up against.

In their 250 days you could see him get pissed when he got beat, but now it’s like he has accepted it and celebrates a second place instead and share the joy of a 1-2 score for the family and team.

And that will probably keep him in a better spot mentally compared to Sexton when he was Jett’s 450 teammate.

Hunter has straight up beaten Jett before and it will happen again.

As for Sexton, he seems to get along with everyone. I can’t see him and Prado having an issue with each other.

Bigger story will be both Prado and Sexton crying about there bikes publicly, blaming anyone other than themselves.

Has he ever beat him straight up on a 450? What happened on 250's, stays on 250's. He could beat him here or there, over the course of his career. It wont be often. Hunter is in a great position and I believe he really knows it. I can't remember which moto podcast said Hunter needs to move to a different team if he ever wants to beat Jett. I couldn't disagree more. He's practicing with the FMOTP every day and constantly catching tows from him during the motos. I could see his results going backwards on another team

I have a feeling sexton will have a hard time adapting on the green bike, at least for a little while.  If that’s the case and Prado can’t continue to build, I’d be pretty pissed if I were Kawasaki paying big money for two prospective “top guys” and neither is performing at the top.

IF Sexton can keep his head in the game, there is no doubt he can & will beat Prado consistently.

Jorge will never beat Chase in sx ever. Outside of a crash at the start or Chase beating himself

I mean Prado is the clear #2 in that scenario. He'll never touch Chase indoors and he's been a massive disappointment outdoors

Prado seems double ply at this point. Chase has had his issues, but the dude always bounces back and proves his worth. We haven't seen that from Prado stateside yet unless you count last weekend with decent pace and more crashes.
