Renegade fuel

Anyone run this and like it? Thinking of switching to this from VP due to the recent issues they’ve had, and how difficult it is to get their fuels. They will not ship pro 6 or u4.4 (along with a bunch of other fuels) to New York, which makes it a huge pain to get. It looks like renegade will ship to your door for free. I was thinking of trying their SX4, which I believe is comparable to pro6/U4.4.

Yea, I am looking to make the switch as well.  I talked to the regional rep and he was very helpful and willing to help on shipping if a small quantity was purchased and shipped to a business address.

My holdup is that I may switch to a 4 stroke from a 2 stroke so wanna buy one stockpile of fuel.  Need to make a proper decision.

The whole vp thing has been quite frustrating to say the least.  Not a fuzzy feeling moving forward at this point…

Yeah I have some U4.4 that isn’t on the recall list but seems like the bike runs poorly and starts extremely hard. I reached out to VP and they did seemed concerned and had me send them a sample for them to test so it’s cool they seem like they do care a little bit. But, it’s just difficult to get their fuels here in New York and looks like you can buy renegade fuel right off their site and the shipping is free I believe.

Is there a way around the crazy hazmat fees? Last time I checked into shipping fuel they were cost-prohibitive unless I was buying a very large quantity.

Just ordered some from renegade to try and shipping was free.

Unable to get VP T2 so I've been using renegade SX2. Can't tell a difference. Jetting didn't change either. 2022 KTM 125sx

Local marathon station sells renegade and I run it in all my small engine stuff. Not looking for performance as much as ethanol free and stability. Been happy enough with it.

What bike(s) are you using it in? Long time VP user here but I have tried some Renegade recently because my dealers here carry both.

I’ve ran their 110 and C12 equivalent a few times with no problems.

Compare spec sheets between all these different “blends” each company uses for each specific type of fuel. They’re all basically the same ingredients/mixtures across all the brands. There’s no “secret formula” to race gas anymore.

I would not not buy VP because of the latest issues. But that is cool that Renegade will ship to your house...

I don’t get this line of thinking. VP realized they had an issue and did their best to get out in front of it and take care of their customers. Mistakes happen, VP’s reaction to it should garner them more loyalty than less. Renegade could easily have the same problem and who knows if they have the resources to deal with it as deftly.

That is my exact thinking, hence the double negative "not not". If anything, VP now has better standards and practices in place than anyone after this experience. So yeah, buy the fuel you can get easily and like, VP or Renegade...

I just go down the road to Agoura and get Sonoco SS100 in 5 gallon pails from the 76 station. My 450RX runs tits on it. It's expensive at $20 a gallon, but so far no issues at all.

Their second batch of replacement fuel was found to be no good as well. I don’t blame people wanting to switch brands after possibly wasting a few hundred dollars traveling to multiple states to race or grenade a perfectly healthy motor or two. Sucks for VP as they’re a great company but completely understand those who were left with a bad taste in their mouth.

20 a gal is that a misprint ? I drive down to Waldo Wi. Just n of rd America. And get vp c12 in bulk for 8 a gal .

I've been running Renegade HRP97 in all of my bikes, for a few years now. I like it. Never tried their true race fuel, but I don't really need anything like that. But the 97 is good in my 2strokes and 250F. Price is pretty decent (relatively speaking.)

Trackside products down in vestal area sells it cheaper than just about anywhere due to the quantity he buys, however he's bound to the no MTBE stuff. T4 is now up to 725 a drum, maybe 90 a pale. Insinger can get the u4.4 or pro 6 but they charge quite a bit more... Just keep an N2 blanket on the fuel if you pick it up in a drum qty or it will go stale before you use it taking 2-3 gallons at a time. Anytime i've been around the renegade fuels the scent is really strong.

Do you run it straight in your 250F?

Ya I just buy the pales or my dealer also sells it bulk from the barrel. So ill go down and just get whatever I need to keep on  hand and then I have another separate smaller can for my 2strokes that I'll mix and then another can for the 250f that I just run straight. I don't bother doing 50/50 pump because I don't want any ethanol or anything from the pump fuel. Running the Renegade has been great as far as no clogging or gummy build up on the carb bikes or efi. And it's not that expensive.
