Saw a post on facebook at mxnews.net about a Beta 125cc MX prototype:

Interesting concept and perfect timing? I wonder about the horsepower compared to the YZ 125 and KTM EFI 125's.
My friend has a 21 125 RE he's converted into more of an mx setup. I've ridden a couple of times it rips.
Once again the production and homologation rules are short sighted and obsolete.

Well it's got a Kickstarter and a carburetor they're doing something right👍

Betas in race trim look so bad ass. Always wanted to add one of their 200s to the stable, maybe a 125 now too.
It's about goddamn time... They have had the platform for a long time now. I bet they have "built" MX 125's off the 125 RR pretty much every year for development.
What do the production and homologation rules have to do with a Beta 125?
Not directly the 125 perhaps, but it is a good example of innovation from a small maker not having a place in MX pro racing in this country.
Are there Production / Homologation rules with regards to say, Lorettas and other big Amateur series in the USA?
Simple answer, yes. All models need to be homolugated.
Rules say 112cc 2t/150cc 4t and below must have 65 units available to the public and 113cc 2t/151cc 4t and above at the sole discretion of AMA Racing.
Jhak Walker is leading the XC 3 class OA in the GNCC series on a Beta 125. He usually finishes inside the top 30 OA, in the afternoon race, so I have to say that platform is pretty competitive.
Homologomation my ass.
Back in the old days when bikes sounded and smelled properly, the 125 was usually the fastest thing on the track.
Not sure but Masterpool and others have raced TM's at LL's so if there is a requirement it is minimal. Just enough to keep homemade frankenbikes out, I would guess.
Ok, see your point, glad to have the production homologation rules.
I think this is perfect timing considering the direction that KTM is gone with their small bores! We need more choices out there to bridge the gap between the 85s and the 250f's a nice light 125 simple to work on with the carburetor and Kickstarter is the answer!
theres sooooo much win here .
go Beta keep up the good work
The brand is doing the right things.

That thing looks DANGEROUS! The Braaaap is set on 10! That's too much!
AWESOME LOOKING BIKE.
Can someone PLEASE get us a video with sound...GOOD sound...?
Man, those bikes look great!
Wow really cool bike.
Honestly, there were some exceptionally cool 125's back in the day... If only a few of them could have survived.
This mid 80's Moto Villa sounds like it runs great. For the old school purists...

Hopefully the kid races more EMX125 rounds! Sweet looking bike
One kid that usually race his Beta 125 RR at the French enduro championship showed up at the French 125 motocross championship and finished 5/4 for 4th OA.
He holeshot one of the moto and started 2nd in the other one. He says it’s a stock bike.
here is the video of the start

Not many care about pro racing here anymore. Who is the fastest 125 rider is a Much Bigger deal. Kinda of like Van Halen or punck rock compared to a terrible top 10 chart song . I would say band but there is none. Just like style on a 4-st pro racer No Style . 125 all style and the newest style of riding.
Interesting point, most of my friends who ride couldn't spot the Lawrence brothers out of a police lineup or tell you who the Baylor brothers are. None have any idea who Brabec or DAKAR is, Toprak, Dunlop, or Marquez either. They really don't care; the promoters of the sport have done a poor job marketing to their most obvious audience even.
Perhaps the bikes, the riding, the tracks, in Pro racing are not relatable to the average rider?
saying people care about 125s more the pro racing is the meth talking.
I could see it amongst local racers.
You never been to a GNCC or a National Enduro then... They could CARE LESS who is "winning" insta-thot challenges and who is the king of gypsy tales BJJ battles.
