Ive had twin walls different bends but I've bent my second pair. I sat on a buddies rmz this weekend and he had the pro taper windham bars and I liked them a lot better. I'm six feet tall, anybody have these bars and what do you think?

I have that bend in the tag t2, taller than you but they are a great compromise between height and sweep for me. I used to use cr hi bend, these have less sweep but feel as tall. I would do them again.

1. Every bike has a different front end height in proportion to the seat height. I know Hondas run way low up front, Yamahas run much taller, for example. So what works for a 6'3'' guy with a Kawi, might not be gospel for a 6'1'' guy with a KTM

2. Windham bends are "RM mid" which are a 92mm rise. Button bends are 110mm and RC high are 119mm so those might actually be better choices if you are really tall, again, depending on the bike.

Hell, the standard "RC" bend is 99mm, which is 7mm taller than Windhams... I think people just get wrapped up around the naming convention and think that because windham is 6'1'' and carmichael is 5'5'' that windhams barrs must be the end-all for tall guys.

Another thing to consider, the Windham bend bar has a ton of sweep so the ends of the bars actually come back closer to the rider's legs. They feel like beach cruiser bars. the RC band bars have a lot less sweep, which gets the grips out of your lap in turns, which is a problem for bigger guys.

Interesting if true. I ride in the woods 99% of the time. Thats all my bikes set up for. Alot of woods guys rave about the Windham bend because its easier for standing, more comfy. I stand 99% of the time & I'm in the market for new bars. I didn't want risers, but I am going to get a taller bar, or more rise. I don't want alot of sweep, so I'm gonna take a look st the RC bend. Sounds about what I'm looking for. I'm 5'10", like I said, I love to stand & I like to get up on the tank. I need room, not my bars in my lap. I hope FasstCompany makes that bend for Flexx bars cause thats what I'm getting. Just emailed the rep today, guess well I'll see!

What is the difference in the evo and non evo? I was under the impression that the Evo was a thinner metal meaning it would bend easier.

I'm 6' and run pro taper windham bends. Love them. I've had a few wrecks that I thought they would have bent but haven't.

Gonna order tomorrow I like how they are like beach cruiser bars as someone mentioned. They do come in 7'8.? I don't want fat bars as I would need new clamps.

Wreckalot, EVO is pro tapers #1 bar. Than they have the contour
Still not sure if you answered my question. Are they lighter/ thinner metal or more difficult to bend? I thought they were lighter material but easier to bend. I think yz is worried about them bending. That's why I was asking.

Damn I just looked and they only come in oversized bars. I want the contour or evo. Are they the same shape? Pro taper makes mounts to fit the oversized bars but now am worried they will be too high. So complicated!

Why not get oversized? Your original post said you bent Twinwalls, which are oversized. So why do you need new clamps? I'm confused.

Protaper Windham bend is virtually identical to Renthal Carmichael.

Not trying to thread jack but I don't trust evos. My snapped when I fell in a sweeper. Not saying they are bad but I just feel like they're are better bars out there for me. I'm looking at Tag XT1's. Anybody know what the closest bend to the stock Yz250f bar is?

Actually the bike was okay. (the rear fender took a hit, but not bad)

Usually when you see ProTapers that bad, somebody went home in a helicopter, but I walked away from that one. Well, limped away. Blush

Thanks for the info. I have the Windham's on my kx450 and I hate them.
