I wouldn’t consider a team consisting of a recent multi time MXGP champ, current top 5 MXGP rider, and current points leading MX2 rider a dark horse team. I consider them to be one of the favorites.

In fairness to Lucas, he has gotten much better at keeping it on 2 wheels the last couple of years. The crash at Foxhills was not his fault, and I think his crash at Southwixk was a mechanical issue?

I like DB's idea of having the Coenens ride, NOT race SX most of the winter, to practice their skills, and come out swinging for MX in '27, and do their first SX season in '28. If KTM is viewing them as a long term investment, giving them time to practice their skills in a discipline they've never done seems like the prudent move, especially considering Sacha's history of crashing.

Just to add... Mcagrath is tied for 10th all time in overall wins in the premier class I believe. He also has more 450 (250 in his time) overalls than Villopoto. 1 title and 2 des nations wins. I get that his career is lopsided, but he still stepped it up outside. Anyone with eyes can watch some old races and see that he meant business.
