Damage control. Kinda necessary. Vince is managing to tarnish the whole team's "look" and reputation. (Their engine builder is golden tho 😂) Geneva ignores the fact that if you mention the name Vince Friese to any rider in the AMA pits, the vast majority of them will cringe. It's really about a PATTERN of behavior and a bad reputation earned over many, many years, not JUST this one incident. VF is a habitual offender. Already heard some of the 450 guys grumbling about him joining their ranks shortly, and they haven't even raced with him yet this year....

I kinda laugh when people go back and watch it slow motion. VF is not riding in slow motion. Don't fault Mike Genova. There was no way he could have ever known that Vince Friese had a long and colorful history of takeouts, beating up other riders on the start line, and questionable racing when he hired him to race for MCR.

He's ON probation. He's BEEN on probation before. This has been going on for over ten years with Friese. TEN. YEARS. Being on probation won't change him because I don't think he actually processes the race situation and makes a decision. The entire sport can't be wrong. The only people in the sport actually defending him are his own team. That's it.

Vince is 80% "Want to" and 20% "Can do". And when I say "can do" I fully mean by comparison to the top 20 SX riders in the world. I wish I had an ounce of his talent to be honest. He just made a bad decision on going for it. The only way things change is JBone needs to put him on probation. That would change his riding style, much like it has with Barcia. Until that happens, Vince is gonna Vince.
