Just looking at the rule book further and it appears that Honda can't even file a protest. Welcome to 🤡🌎.

I'm out on the debate; just interested how AMA takes this and improves the situation. It's gonna be hard; JT$ says it's too confusing for the riders already.

I am still of the humble opinion that...the AMA sucks. The AMA is like a toll booth...worthless fkng organization that does little or nothing except collect dues.

Sorry but just like the AMA, you got this one wrong. You say the official brought out the red cross flag after Hunter went past and Eli didn’t have time to react- no the flag was out for Hunter and he rolled the finish as a result. By your own screenshots, Hunter was over four seconds ahead, which means there was plenty of time for Eli and co to see it too. You say Eli and Kenny both look back at the flag as they go over the jump- but they’re looking right while the flag was on their left...

I hate having to create another thread on this but all others have gotten out of hand and aren't actually looking at what happened. Specifically referring to the 450 event, here's exactly what happened, and I would say the same if it had been any other rider in this situation. With exactly 3:37 remaining in the race (after Hunter had already passed the finish line), the official brings out the red cross flag. As you can see in the pictures below, when Eli took off from the small double, the flag was not out yet. As he starting to go...

You're curious? Oh yes, I remember now, you are "race director" and have much more experience and knowledge than anyone on this board when it comes to these things. You throw you opinion around as fact and refuse to acknowledge any difference of opinion. One of the most self-righteous dudes on this board. Verbal isn't binding in this matter, PERIOD. And Hunter himself said on Pulp he'd never heard anything about lead in lights and he didn't jump because "red lights mean wheels on the ground." Maybe the fact both Martin brothers and Phil said the same thing might sway...

Well they can choose to introduce new rules anyway they like but if it’s done any way other than properly updating the rulebook then this is the type of shitshow you end up with. Is this the way you manage employment conditions and policies at your workplace?

Is that the accepted method now for advising teams and riders of rules? We are still talking about AMA Supercross here aren’t we - the pinnacle of off-road motorcycle racing in the world? Riders meetings aren’t the place to introduce and explain new rules - they are for highlighting existing rules that need reinforcement and explaining conditions about the racing for the day.

Wrong answer guy, you have it right there. You are assuming. Numerous pro riders have came out with their name saying they were not told this. Yet you, with no name, keep saying it’s the right decision and it has been announced. Yet now you say you ASSUME it’s been announced. Just stop…

Mike , you ask " who is right" ? That Mike , is very simple. The rule book is "right", after all it is the " rule book". In spite of what the rule book states , you keep repeating the same nonsense over and over and no one here is buying it for a very good reason. The reason being is that none of that is written down in the rule book. Keep your eye on that whole reoccurring " rule book" concept as that's where you're getting lost. There's zero reason that the rule book has not been...

I’m no pro racer, but the lights and flag rules seem like a pretty complicated decision to make in the middle of an SX race.

I haven't been a race director, but I do know how to read. The penalties for violating the rules are up to the race directors discretion to a point. Nowhere does it say that discretion includes the ability to rewrite the rules. But I'm just a dumbass who needs written instructions to breathe according to you.

I spent a couple of decades organizing and running races and race series. If I had made a change in the rules in 2024, it would be written down in the rulebook by 2026.

Working overtime in these comments, all to change absolutely no one’s mind on how Jo got fucked by this. Of course, I’m sure everyone’s already convinced of this, but at this point I hope you’re on someone’s payroll twisting your brain into a pretzel with the mental gymnastics trying to make sense of this to everyone here.

Thanks for all the input Mike...now get back to updating that rule book so that Ezra doesn't have to haul his azz all around the pits talking about the "rules" to anyone that might be listening. When was the last time you watched any sport of any kind where an official made an outrageous call and then backs it up by saying "Well that's not actually in the rule book but one of our guys has been telling all the players about it" Comical that you're even trying to defend this bozo act.
