That was a very public flailing, as opposed to the softer "we-aren't-going-to-call-you-out" US rider situations. Nice to see the direct approach and willingness to reconsider by Coenen.

It’s just a disgraceful decision. Whether he is racing a 450 next year or not, it’s still 2024. He finished 2nd in the MX2 world championship and is the form 250 rider, to not ride the bike you’ve been racing all year in this situation is a complete joke. There will be a massive amount of Belgian fans all paid up, ready to leave, this is an insult and a kick in the face to every single one of them. I don’t know who was advising him in this process, but he should find someone else

Terrible news - I was under the impression that Sacha was recovered from his training injury. Belgium had three great riders lined up and were in contention for the podium. Sucks.

That's how he's sold every year by most media, pro or social. And yet, I feel he's overrated. Not that he's not fast, but even moto wins are scarce... Of course, right now, everybody looks weak and not hungry compared to Deegan...

I was thinking he was having a lot tougher time since he switched to the Honda. I looked back at his results and realized that he always only wins a race or two every season. He’s never really been a strong title contender.

Kinda pulling for the US team this year to make it extra worthwhile for the 3 that stepped up and went. And to rub it in for the riders and teams that chickened out. There are better teams on paper, but I would say a win is possible if all 3 riders have a good day

Team Netherlands, Team France, and Team Australia. I'd say that all will give Team USA everything they can handle and more!

If I was his agent. I'd want him to stay in 250 class as long as he can. Barring injury. Him in the 250 class is like printing bonus money. Also, if I was his agent, I'd buy a boat with my agent fees. But I'm not his agent. I want him to race 450s right now.

My belief is that a top rider that is has just won a championship or vying for a championship, pretty much gets whatever they want from their team. I never believed it was because Star refused to fund the trip, and I also didn't believe that taking the hardware out were the real reasons behind Deagan not going, I don't know the Deagan's but I would guess it is the dad who behind this and his son is just going along with it. I’m a fan of Deegan, his riding style is exciting, he clearly works hard, max passion. At first I was a bit put off by his podium performance, but the way he’s owned it has me actually kinda enjoying it. If the reason was his wrist, he wouldn’t have waited till Eli made the decision not to go to decide himself, he would have just ducked out weeks before…I don’t like him less, but let’s be honest.

How ironic is it that cooper webb is going to ride deegans 250f at the motocross of nations for a team that supposedly wont let riders go because of an injury that supposedly never existed? You cant make this stuff up lol…
