Chase won championships and lots of races on Honda and ktm regardless of how he felt about the bike or the team. Always a head scratcher to me when people try to act like the kawasaki experience is just more of the same. It's not.

I disagree. First off, he confirmed that he really was too injured to race Daytona and Indy, and decided that since he was already out of the championship, it made sense to sit out Birmingham as well so he got an extra 2 weeks to get ready to return. Second, he described the crash and didn’t say a thing about a bike failure as was speculated earlier. Finally, he said he was working on himself rather than focusing on further changes with the bike. Sounded to me like a guy who knows that whether the bike is perfect for him...

I’m personally cutting him some slack on his slow roll back to racing. Last fall, the guy was literally snoring on the side of the track after his SMX crash. Rumor has it, this last crash was a big one. If he knocked his head yet again, it makes sense that he’s taking the time he needs to come back. As someone who has had more concussions than I can count, I wish I knew then what I know now.

The turning point of limegate really changed the landscape of Supercross. The track breaking down and being this rough has changed this facet of the sport so much. Maybe it’s safer. Maybe it’s not. It could create separation and slower speeds, but it couldn’t be tougher to ride for these guys, which they’re professionals i understand. I think there’s a big gap to close in that regard, but we also have very good racing week to week. I understand it’s not dirt works problem, and nobody is at fault necessarily but I’d love to see whoops without a 3 foot...

I don't really know what the answer is and don't want to step on toes, but i do know that as a fan, I'm not buying tickets or watching live TV to see Friese or Cole Thompson or any other guy who is going to be a lap down by the end. I want to watch the top 10, who i consider the best in the world. This sport needs to learn how to get out of its own way. The saying, "that's always been part of it" makes me embarrassed everytime I hear it. Between safety issues and lappers...
