I just finished watching the second round of the Indian SX. I'm pretty sure any Indian newcomer to the sport had at least as much of a good time as the AbuDhabian newcomers, watching a race that probably cost the promoter a tenth of WSX... And they even have sponsors!

So how is that more appealing to the team owners? They now have less income from the series and are less appealing to a sponsor who just had their exposure cut in half. As a person who is spending money on tickets, there's no way I'm paying the same ticket price for half the racing action. The only one who benefits is the series owner/promoter.

You gotta love a WSX topic where most posts are about totally something else... That shows how much interest WSX raises... I also enjoy, as usual, people downvoting the actual truth... Even the most enthusiastic when WSX started, like Yarrive Konsky, are totally dejected by the directions taken...

Y'all can blame it on all of the current hot button talking points you have been fed by people that are trying to scare you, but the simple fact is if you own an expensive toy you are a target for theft. Big city or small town, red state or blue state, 1980's or 2020's, it doesn't matter. I had my entire racing program (trailer, bike, tools, gear bag) stolen out of my garage in 1989 and got hit again in 2003. Both were in small town Texas where we have guns and castle doctrines and FAFO and laws and...

Loads up in perfectly clean truck with a new bike to the track for practice. Signs up for +35A but it’s been a few months. Unloads the pristine bike and gets new gear on. Does a few stretches and listens to the bike idle as it warms slowly. 2 laps into the watered deeply tilled track and pumped up like a rock. No big deal it has been a while. Second session (45 minutes later) 2 more laps with better pace. Confidence growing, still get pumped up. 45 minutes later practice 3 and the track is brutal. 2 of the...

Take him trail riding somewhere that’s fun…nicely laid out…and has terrain that’s interesting and even “scenic”. That’s one way to get him out there for longer rides. You’ll need to stop and take a few minutes now and then…to let him recover/chill…probably. Take some water and some kind of snack, too. This is often also better for them to get more time or a longer duration ride that helps with developing solid fundamentals. But, aside from all that…just change the mission. Change the environment. Make it an adventure. Good luck! Manny

He was literally like that though. End of 03 Reed was on fire and RC knew 2nd the rest of the way got him the championship, so that’s what he did. Racing Stewart in 06, there were nights Stewart was on fire and he knew he needed to minimize the damage and get 2nd. That’s what he did.

Last year a typical non race day at the track consisted of me starting with a 3 lap warm up, then break, 4 or 5 laps, break, 5 laps, break, hit some trails, break, 6 laps, break, etc. until I was content to call er a day. And that's been a typical ride day for me for the last 20 years. Well this winter I bought my kids (3 & 5) a pw50, yesterday was their first time out on it. My 3 year old son loves watching dirtbike videos, and has been talking all winter about wanting to ride his...

No... A grown man ripped a pair of goggles off another mans head that were NOT his. Why are people sugar coating this as if theft is ok nowadays? Meanwhile there is 2 other live threads on here about "how to not get your bike stolen from hotels" and others saying to "cut off hands" after they just got their bikes stolen... This place is so weird sometimes. "but look everybody... the criminal gave them to St Judes!!! So everything is fine now." GTFO here with that.

Embarrassing story. One year I was working the Seattle sx. Setting up banners and such around the track. I was in a hurry running across the track and jumped onto a tuff block and the effer rolled on me and I went down hard! Right in front of JLaw and his entourage he said " damn bro you ate shit! You alright?" I was just a 16 year old kid that whadded up in front of a bad ass! Haha

I think the toughest part is being at your best/100% every weekend at the races….Some days we all feel like crap, maybe woke up with a headache, sore neck, didn’t sleep for shit due to a cold, crabby, just not feeling it, wife pissed you off, kids irritating you,,..etc. These guys need to be perfect every time. Those who handle this the best (mental toughness) are the ones winning…I don’t think that can be taught…

A few more points... Lots of folks used to one day racing do work around the house on the other day off. What are the parents to do with the kids all day when they are racing? Some folks get a room for the night or may have to pay the track for an additional night/RV. I am sure I could come up with at least a half dozen more legitimate reasons if you want. I would also argue the turnout could be lower as not everybody can do two day racing with the family or just say the hell...
