Any idea where it happened on the track? There isn't too much there that is overly technical or inherently dangerous obstacle wise.

He gained no advantage. He literally lost a position. Trying to stay on the track was dangerous and so was circling back to cross. Minear did the right thing and this is a dumbass rule.

I can’t make up my mind about what bike to ride either….so I have a 125,250& 300 2t”s…3504t….the only bike I don’t have is a 450….most of my local tracks are smaller/ tighter and the 450”s just feel like tanks on the smaller tracks…..if you want to clear all the jumps with ease and will be racing Vet classes then a 450 will make life easier….I don’t care about that so much anymore, I just want to feel alive….riding a smaller bike achieves this….

Do you plan on racing open age classes? Get a 450. Are you going to open practices for fun? Get a 250. If you're in shape physically then get a 450. If you work an office job and don't hit the gym then get a 125 bc you're more out of shape than you think. All coming from a guy...

I think the flagged was in a damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t situation. If the flagged just let the kid lay there with his leg stuck in the bike I’m sure people would be saying why he didn’t get the kids leg outta there. At some point they were going to have to roll the bike backwards to get his leg out anyways, plus the kid was just laying in the middle of the track trapped in his bike.

Idk if there is some bad juju going around the Triumph rig, or if Smith was like this on other teams. Either way, it does not sound good and am hopeful that the new team can turn things around.

Try and run what comes out of that motor through a fine screen or filter of some sort and then you can see what was floating around in there. Might give you some idea as to what kind of damage was done.

If you have the budget then rebuild the whole motor. New main bearings and seals, new big end and small end bearings, new piston kit and then you'll have pretty much a new motor that you can rely on. Also freshen up the water pump ( impeller) seal and shifter seal and all relevan o'rings/ seals whilst the motor is open. You are already asking if there can be "premature" wear on the crank (all moving parts) The answer is yes. If there was dirt (dust) sucked in from the faulty filter then I have no doubt that some damage...

Assuming everyone is healthy? Tomac-450 and Deegan-250. If you set aside Sexton's time at Kawi then I'd say he is hands down the fastest American. He's just too inconsistent to choose as the "best."
