I qualified for the 500 class at the USGP at Unadilla in 1984. I went 18/19, but ended up 21st Overall and was so bummed they only put the top 20 in Cycle News. A couple went 15 and something to score a couple more points and knocked me back. I entered the national at Gaterback 1985, but didn't qualify. Hate to break it to you, but if you don’t think Deegan rode better this weekend then you’re completely clueless. Of course he’s gonna look uncomfortable riding at the Lawrence Brothers speed, this level of riding is new to him. The only way for him to get comfortable at these speeds is to keep forcing himself out of his comfort zone for longer periods of time. He did that this weekend and was able to hang with the leaders in Moto 1 for a few laps and even managed a pass for second place and applied pressure to the leader...
