honestly, none of it affects my day to day. I'm used to gas prices going up and down for what seems like no reason. No 1 person can cause it either. Oil and natural gas are commodities and bought and sold on futures contracts and speculation. 'fear of' drives many transactions. I lived most my life in California where gas prices were always above most other states. Regulation and taxes added to the commodity always made us pay more. Same with electricity and water. The stock market can be real twitchy as well based on world events, but over time...
