Is that your limited view on the sports world causing you to say only in MX? Because F1 has cancelled complete rounds due to weather. Fucking hate when people that has no clue how complicated it is to organise large scale events think there was some highly intelligent way they could have salvaged the round and everybody would have been happy. Stick the series in an indoor environment and everyone will complain it's just another SX track without whoops. Do it on an outdoor track and we'll, we already seen this year what could happend. Regardless of how and why the decision was made, I believe it was the right call, if only for the safety of the riders. That track was fucked.

There's quite a few grown-ass men posting in this thread who have the emotional intelligence of a 3 year old throwing a tantrum because things didn't go the way they wanted. Probably a lot of the same guys who were bitching about the SF race actually being held in the mud last year, too.

The sport has likely peaked. That aside, I work in logistics now. I move lots of equipment for trade show type events and disaster work. The mess adding one more day to this could easily run into several million in a blink.

A major concern from riders I heard that is unique to this venue...if a jump is sloppy or slick, there are plenty of instances in SX launching off the sides of jumps... Well, thanks to this being a four-wide drag strip, each lane has massive concrete barriers in between them to land on. I know many of us have raced mudders during our times in motocross or some form of off-road race. I can't imagine few if any of us have every race a SX mudder, though. That is its own beast.

Many of the top forms of Motorsports have cancelled events mid-running for weather lesser than this.

One issue I heard in passing, about ten minutes before the cancellation came out, was how Dirt Wurx was going to deal with re-routing the "motocross section". Everyone had agreed that section was beyond gone and needed to be cut out to keep racing, which might seem simple to re-route the track right before it left the grandstand area... However, they mentioned they would have to build a section to circumvent over the walls again, and with very muddy dirt. There were talks of running one section the wrong way to re-route a lane, and some other comments. Either way...

If you don't like it, don't watch it. That was one of the most difficult tracks we've seen the top athletes ride. A gimmick is Field running a series that doesn't benefit anyone but them selves. The riders racing actually have a chance for good money. Let's watch the racing and stop complaining.
