It's the OEMs dragging ass. They have to get a licensing agreement with acerbis, cycra, polisport, ect. They can't just start stamping out the design.

They're the same ones who try to get your clean, well-maintained bike off Craigslist in trade for a pitbull puppy and a Remington pump action shotgun, because they think they can flip it for cash. I've actually started calling those guys "Craigs" no offense to anyone actually named Craig.

define "potential". I've often felt the same way. thinking "meh...this squid couldn't use all of a 93 CR125" But that same squid on a 450 will turn faster lap times than he will on the 93 CR125, will he not? so should he ride the CR125 out of "principle", or should be get what HE is fastest on?

The bike Sanner dyno'd at 49.5hp recently is for sale because the owner got hurt. the list of mods is posted, and its a lot more than just "race fuel and vortex". its not super extensive though. There's a piston (vertex) and he said "modified stock cams" so i dont know if he had someone like Web do a re-grind...

Yep. They made forks, cranks, and handlebar kits that you'd put on other frames of the era, or the ashtabula frame. (the ones that had the big gusset up front, after the "Stingray" era) That was the hot set-up circa 77ish before the market exploded with all the mongoose, SE, redline, and haro components. mag wheels too. those wheels are...
