Yes! Like others this is great to know.....so Im curious, I see the specs on motor as:

MABUCHI RS-365SH 6-20V DC MOTOR 19400RPM 250MA

and

Operates on 18 VDC nominal - Recommended operating voltage range 6VDC to 20VDC - No load speed is 19,400 RPM - No load current: 220 mA - Full load (maximum efficiency @ 18VDC) performance characteristics: Speed: 16,060 RPM, Current: 1,060 mA, Torque: 72.2 g-cm (7.09 mN-m), Power output: 11.9 Watts - Stall torque: 420 g-cm (41.2 mN-m) - Stall current: 5.10 Ampere - Can be operated in either direction - Dimensions (not including shaft): 1.28" long x 1.09" diameter - Shaft dimensions: .35" long x .09" diameter - Features 2 threaded mounting holes (JIS M2.6x0.45)

I used to race RC Cars extensively and my thought process here is relating this to an aftermarket high performance steering servo and how I was able to drastically increase the turning and handling performance by getting a higher speed & higher torque servo than the standard ones that came with my RC controller ..... What Im wondering here is, I saw a few motors that would fit in the same dimensions yet had a slightly higher RPM rating and torque numbers were increased as well, could one put in a replacement servo motor that was faster, had more torque, more efficient, responsive to power/signal input from the TPS or CDI possibly making the RC valve react quicker and sharper?

In my own wacky ass theory an owner of the RC valve equipped CR's could turn the bike into more of a brute hitting/running beast like the 92-01 engines as the RC powervalve would function more like a perfect version of the mechanical one it replaced, instead of a linear open/close it worked quicker letting the gasses build up just a little bit more before it opened, and opened at a faster rate releasing the trapped exhaust gasses faster, they should/would be a little more compressed and release with more of a burst and create a better hit in the engine when it transitions from mid to top end power?

Anyone else think this would work? Would it allow the engine to make better use of the oversized crankcase volume? I.E. the RC-pv stays closed a little longer allows the exh gasses to build up slightly more in the engine and then opens faster releasing them, assuming the upgraded motor has more torque to pull the valve closed to make a much better and consistent seal of the butterfly valve when closed? Same would apply for when its fully open.

Or am I completely out to lunch on this thought?
One of the main reasons I decided to use the programmable ignition was so that I could do custom PV maps. The ignition allows you to store up to 5 different PV maps and switch between 2 pre-selected maps via a handlebar switch while riding. So in this case there would be a ignition map switch and a power valve map switch on the bars.

I just finished the bracket to mount the ignition box last night, below are a few pics.

Nice work. The electronics look so "pedestrian" with the trick CF bracket and TI fasteners.

Yea, I was pretty stoked on how that bracket turned out. Too bad it's buried on the bike and you can barely see it Sad

I wanted to maintain the OEM look, these are based off of the 2008 four stroke graphics with some changes made to accommodate the smoker radiator shrouds.

Does the servo motor need to be the mabuchi brand or will others work? I found a rs-365sh on amazon but a different brand. I was just looking for one I could get in the US instead of Hong Kong

Is there anyone in the industry currently developing and offering these cranks for sale? I would be interested in learning more about them and seeing some dyno sheets. This is a very interesting concept.

I decided to switch the air boot to the 2004 version because it has slightly more volume and a bit straighter shot to the carb. I figured that I should try the 2004 intake manifold as well but after a bit closer look I found the 2003 manifold has a much straighter path to the reed cage and actually lowers the carb approximate 1/4" compared to the 2003. We settled on the 2003 intake manifold combined with the 2004 air boot as being the best combo.

Its hard to see in the pic below, but it is shaped much differently and will definitely affect performance.

One of the first drafts posted below looked more like the #111 works bike. That was used as one of the starting points in the design. In some ways I like it more as well.

The carb we are going to run is a modified PWK Airstryker that was the OEM spec on the Suzuki RM250. Varner bored the carb to 39.5mm and hand blended the bell around the fins. I had to add a bell extender to make the whole setup work because the carb is about 15mm shorter. The shorter carb should help low end throttle response a bit compared to the 2000 CR250 Keihin that is the typical swap, but I haven't tested it yet.

Yes, both the TPS and power jet will be fully functional.

Man, I didn't realize how many parts are on a motorcycle. You could almost do a thread on each one.

Finally got around to finish packing the silencer and threw it on the postage scale because I was curious what the final weight would be.

Ended up at 1lb 13.7oz. That's pretty light for a stock length silencer.

Just out of curiosity, what is that compared to stock?

I think stock is around 2.5lbs? The Honda OEM silencer is lighter than it looks.

ive talked with slipdog about these cranks. he is just small time now so he doenst have a lot of time to do development, and he doesnt have his on dynometer so he hasnt done a lot of these on bikes.
but this is what he relayed to me

on a 2001 rm125 that was dropped off to him he only did the crank mod. it was dynoed before to get a baseline. it wasnt a brand new perfect engine and it was having some issue but it was something like 29hp? he then did it with the crank mod and it bumped it up something like 3-4hp and it was mostly in the top end

he also did the mod on a YZ250 (dont remeber exact year but the engine was pretty much unchanged from 02 on) it increased power by about 1-2 but it was across the entire powerband not just in top end like the 125.

Dude, get ahold of whoever is the AMA inspecting official, and put a guy like Collier on this at Glen Helen. Let em inspect the frame and whatnot, it might still be legal. 07?

What brand plastic do you plan on using?
Do you plan on actually riding this or is it going to be a showcase now?

and finally...oil and fuel for this thing?

I think the OEM's have to submit a bike for homologation every 3 years for it to be legal? I think I read that in the rule book somewhere a few years ago but I'm definitely not 100% sure.

I just picked up some Rtech plastic from the shop yesterday. It looks and fits as good or better than OEM Honda as far as I can tell.

As far as the showcase question: Why build it if you're not going to ride it? I hope to ride it at least once or twice a week.

Oil and Fuel: 40:1 Maxima K2 mixed with VP C12.

How did you lengthen the wires for the relocate? I might do the same thing and was thinking about cutting the leads then soldering in extension wires.
