NV/HC! Added a reply to What happened to Mcelraths bike?

Its probably a bad gas cap. I had the same problem on a 2014 KTM 450 FE. Spent way too much time taking the gas cap apart checking vents, blah, blah. $15 for a new OEM gas cap. Problem solved.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Dungey on GP tracks/Competition

Wait, so the guys who can ride well in a variety of terrain, test their bikes to get them right for a variety of conditions and race in countries with different foods, cultures and languages aren't competition for the guy who wins championships on cookie cutter prepped tracks, using the same tire all year and complaining his bike is 2...

NV/HC! Added a reply to LACR quad hit again

Outside of the debate on track design, this kid is actually really damn fast, and super nice. I parked next to him at the Mammoth Qualifier at Glen Helen, having no idea who he was, I watched the 450 pro moto and he was flying. Talked to him for a few minutes after his moto and he was a cool...

NV/HC! Added a reply to Funnest track you've ever been to?

1.) Broome Tioga - Binghampton, NY (I know a lot of pros hated this track but I thought it was awesome) 2.) Fernley, NV 3.) Cycle Ranch 4.) Ponca City, OK 5.) Mammoth when the dirt was still good.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Kids & amateurs riding with pro's

4/4/2015 6:17pm
I wondered if this bothered other people. I try to get down there to ride quite a bit, and even as someone who has raced pro and qualified for a national back in the day it can be pretty intimidating to have those guys out there. The hardest part is if you are on your first few laps and your...

NV/HC! Added a reply to can A.Short improve

3/12/2015 9:03am
Colonel is exactly right. I think in work experience, schooling and variety Seiji has lots more experience than Aldon anyway. Which I would credit to Andrew's ability to stay mostly injury free and the longevity of his career. Andrew is riding the best he has since the year he was battling Langston for the 450 outdoor title. It's pretty impressive...

NV/HC! Started a new thread USA vs Euro Motocross (theories)

2/28/2015 11:07am
Sitting here watching the qualifying highlights from Qatar I was thinking about some things. This is not to write RV off because he will win some races and be in the title hunt I think. But I think the European riders and their bike setups are better overall on wider ranges of conditions. As Americans we try to make all...

NV/HC! Added a reply to USA vs Euro Motocross (theories)

Ya thats how it looks to me. I would think they run completely different valving and such at the deep sand tracks. Cairoli has such a cool smooth style. I could watch him float around the tracks all day.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Best Premix

2/9/2015 7:28am
In the KTM manual it says to run 60:1. I run mine 50:1 on a 2014 250x. Must have something to do with the smaller carbs on those bikes. Good on you for running some higher octane, especially on a KTM. Pump gas blows. Your bike runs like shit and pings on that stuff. For oil I go with Motul...

NV/HC! Added a reply to RM 250 experts please chime in.

2/7/2015 7:02am
Compared to the pre 2004 models the RM is a ton better. You will love the 06. 05-08 are the best and basically the same. The Showa suspension change was a major upgrade. One of the best bikes to own in my opinion.

NV/HC! Started a new thread Feld/YouTube

1/27/2015 10:44am
Anyone else finding it really annoying that Feld is taking down all the YouTube videos people make so those of us who can't afford FS1 can watch SX? Jesus, make a LiveStream we can pay for or something.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Pro's Making Money

10/29/2014 8:12am
I would think it is still possible for fair amount of pro's to make decent money racing regionally. It seemed like Weston Peick did that in 2013. Racing the SX series and then the national's he could make as well as other money races. I remember watching LOTS of pros do this on the west coast when I was growing...

NV/HC! Added a reply to New billionaire

1/30/2014 7:53am
Nail on the head...... I have no business degree, and hardly any college education, but I am a liberal SOB with experience working for Feld and other touring/event companies. I also agree with JonesAustin that making your money on the backs of some of the planets most majestic creatures is just heartless. Feld- Mostly independent contracted employees, regularly cutting salaries...

NV/HC! Added a reply to I've Officialy Joined the 2 Stroke Nuts

12/30/2013 2:04pm
I had the same experience with 927. I always use Motul 800, and it burns really clean. 40:1 or 32:1. I think like FGR says...run 32:1 since it's recommended and it never hurts to have that bit of extra oil. To tell if the bike is lean or rich. If you slowly go through the range of throttle positions, it...

Should probably fix the routing of the throttle and clutch cables before they cause a disaster.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Underground MX shutting it down

12/12/2013 8:09am
Damn! So sad to hear. I never made it up to Underground while I lived in Austin. Now I really wish I would have. It always looked like a first class facility. Bummer for the TX Motocross scene.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Racer Chasers

11/21/2013 7:49am
It would be really ironic if both of these girls end up dating/marrying pro riders or athletes…….That being said, I would racer chase the women's olympic ski team myself.

NV/HC! Added a reply to Neck braces... Your opinion

11/8/2013 3:31pm
I was wondering if anyone wearing these braces, specifically the A-Stars brace has actually read the manual it comes with. According to the manual, ideally you want the brace to sit flush on the base of the helmet to achieve the most protection from a compression injury. The further the gap between the helmet and brace the more chance of...
