Well that really sucks for TEXAS. Good look to you guys and I wish y'all the best.

That was the ruttiest place I have ever ridden.

Maybe it's just me but every time I pulled through the gates there I had my fingers crossed it would look that way by the time I left. That's half the reason I went. It was a fast track but the ruts and bumps helped slow it down and make it a technical track that was hard for everyone and dangerous for very few.

Huck is correct and he knows how useless trying to make a liberal see logic.

The IRS is going to dole this shit out and they will take care of sports like ours.

So, i have been put under the impression that this has nothing to do with an injury related lawsuit. Good news in a way to me. Still confusing as heck though. I mean everybody, EVERYBODY, ranted and raved about this place. I rode it the first weekend of the big new layout and it was insane, thought i would be able to go back out there for years to come. Sad day!

From what im being told it has squat to do with insurance or lawsuits. Its more to do with family squabling over money.

One of our best places to ride when were down there....sucks! I think and hoping we will see it open again in the near future.

I guess based on this information, we should all cancel our insurance policies and ride without insurance. To keep tracks open. Wait...how is this Obama's fault again? And didn't you say people should have to pay their bills back if they ride without insurance? I am confused.

I showed up there fat, out of shape, and with a brand new unfamiliar bike; but I had a great time none the less. I hope guys like me from Fort Worth (or even more westerly) aren't part of the problem by not making the extra drive to a place that put in above and beyond effort like UG. My C class riding always demands more seat time over great seat time; RIP to a modern legend I didn't support enough.

You are kinda right. It had to do with business partnership stuff. No lawsuit or anything like that. Does suck for the people who just paid for a membership. We where going to go out this weekend and pay for our memberships but weather was bad. O, and the first LL qualifier for our area was the last weekend of February at UGMX. Wonder what will happen now?

"Yes UGMX closed & before the rumor mill starts it wasn't because of noise violations, accidents @ the track or lack of funds or Whitney & Randy divorcing, they have by far the best marriage two ppl can have. It was simply bc an agreement could not be made between 2 parties and Randy and Whitney were not going to allow the bullying to continue. So they closed the business & still own the property." - Holly Marrs-Bruce on the Facebook update.

We practiced there in the early days, and was there for the very first race. Loved going there whenever a race was held. Best track in Tx for beating the HELL out of you, Ruts in Ruts and Breaking bumps ontop of Breaking bumps !!! We're really upset to hear this news. Maybe one day , a resurrection can occur and bring this awesome track back to all who loved to ride there. Good Luck in your future. As an alternative to UGMX, everyone should go check out Johnsonville MX Farm @ Lake Fork. This is another GREAT track for Quality dirt and ruts !!!

1. I could care less if every track closes, it wouldn't change my life at all. Where did I say that you should cancel anything?

2. How did I say it was Obama's fault? Mark my words, the ACA will investigate your injury and look for fault from where you got hurt, similar to what some insurance companies do now. If you get hurt at work, and go file your injury on your normal insurance...your insurance company will go after your work, to have their workmens comp take care of it....

3. If you ride without insurance and get hurt, you should have to pay every nickle back to the medical provider. Nothing should be 'written off'...because of your stupidity. (you doesn't equal 'you', specifically)

Let me know if you still don't understand my opinions...

Wow, I can't believe you said that! Tracks are the life blood of this sport. Without the great people that build tracks and open the gates to their land, this sport is DEAD.

Ok, that might have been a little much...and of course they are what makes our sport great.... but in the grand scheme of 'life', it won't effect me one way or another. It's a sad reality that there are those out there that want to shut our sport down...and it's gonna happen, unfortunately. Will I like it? Heck no!

Fuck you, leech. Take your political bull shit to the non-moto board...where it belongs.

Figured you'd join in, when insurance is spoken about...maybe everybody should just buddy up with their local churches? That way none of us need insurance....

Well, it would affect me because my one true passion in life is "riding" moto, not talking about it, or politics.

Damn! So sad to hear. I never made it up to Underground while I lived in Austin. Now I really wish I would have. It always looked like a first class facility.

Bummer for the TX Motocross scene.

Let's summarize Huck's chain of logic:

1. People without insurance shouldn't ride because they can't afford to pay medical bills if they are injured.

2. People with insurance to cover their medical bills shouldn't ride because their insurance companies will sue in place of the rider (subrogation, a central feature of insurance predating the ACA for decades if not centuries in fault based liability legal systems).

3. That leaves the rest of us...

Oldfart, Huck,
If you can't come to the moto side of this message board, without bringing your non-moto fights, maybe the big guy in charge needs to give you a timeout? That's my thought at least.

For those of us that care and don't want yo travel through that garbage, any word as to why the track shut down?

1. Very true. And I stand by that.
2. More and more insurance companies will go after tracks (or whoever is responsible of the injury) which will result in more tracks closing. Nowhere did I say that people should not ride if they have insurance. Just saying that as time goes, more tracks will be shut down, because of this reason. I guess they don't teach reading comp 101 anymore? -
3. Not sure what that means?

Pretty sure I'm still entitled to my opinion on this topic...am I not? Not my problem if you don't agree with it...

Im about as conservative as they come and I can't stand Obama, but if u would actually read what Obamacare is and going to do and not just watch Fox News (which I love and watch everyday) you wouldn't be saying this crap.

And I hate the IRS, shut my dads farm down, but don't worry they aren't going to around much longer

Add The Pit MX in Terrell and MotoX Pit in Ferris both closing over the past 12 months. Things not looking good for moto east of DFW.

we were there that day, absolutely crazy ruts everywhere. I can't remember if it was that day or the day before, but this kid hit the freestyle jump and absolutely drove himself into the ground. BQ365 was there killing it and I have no idea what the kid that wadded was thinking but he had no business hitting that ramp. anyway wonder if that had anything to do with it? I looked for more than a couple days after we got home and never did hear/see anything about it. if I remember right he was from one of the northern states MN or MI pretty sure. no matter it really sucks they're closing, always one of our "must hit" tracks when were in TX
I also was there that day. I struggled so bad I crashed on a straight Blush It was the fourth or fifth day in a row riding and I was really tired and sore. I did about ten laps and said F it, I'm gonna drink a beer. I know that dude had no reason to hit that ramp cuz I was faster than he was ha. I heard he split his helmet.
