My standard work week is 45-50 hours and about 25% of the time we also work 8-12 hours on Saturdays based on production needs. I commute 45 minutes each way. I am typically out of the house for 11+ hours a day. I am in a salaried position and we do no get paid for OT until we hit 48+...

My thoughts are that behind this all there are several Big Cable and Dish companies who are being undercut by net streaming services to the point where they may be facing bankruptcy X amount of years down the road shall us normal folks continue to cut the cord. The government can't afford to lose the tax revenue from the 10's...

Never deviate from the OEMs recommended torques. 10-15% seems minor, but it's not.

working on a risk assessment paper for the Murphy oil spill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy_Oil_USA_refinery_spill The tank that ruptured had a storage capacity of 250k bbls, a diameter of 95 meters, est height of 16.6 meters, with a floating roof design. I did some calculations based on the information that has been posted. Thank you for your help. My estimated tank weight from the calculation came out to about 655 tons. Does this seem practical?

That is what I am going to calculate. One of the inputs for this calculation is the mass of the tank itself. I am having a difficult time even making an educated guess as to what the tank weighs empty.

Save your money. Scour Craigslist and local facebook "for sale" groups for kitchen cabinets. You can get them dirt cheap (sometimes free if you offer your labor to remove them before they are out) and you get so much storage space for your $$$. Shop your local Menard's Lowes, HD, etc., for clearance laminate counter top.I like laminate because it's...

I hope you understand that every piece of inventory carried in the shop is an inventory expense that impacts overheads and ultimately profits. The shops have to pay for everything you see there out of their operating budget. When I worked at a shop many years ago, we would allow customers to order parts without payment. We literally had shelves...

The half year bike KTM does is nothing more than a limited production build. This gives KTM the opportunity to run next year's product down the current manufacturing process to help understand what changes are needed (tooling, labor, supply chain. etc) before the full on model year change. This ensures a quality product, safe processes for their labor, and ability...

Babbitt’s has had an exclusive relationship with the highly successful AX team for many years. The Springfield Armory owner is the same owner of the Moto Armory collection of vintage bikes. So right there I could see that Springfield Armory sees some sponsorship opportunity with Reed and Bob Reese has a known interest in motorcycles. Some things start to add...

That flat washer (92200) that the bearing needle rides on comes in different thicknesses. Since you cannot get the clutch to completely disengage, you need to order a thicker washer. This will allow the clutch pack to expand more and completely disengage the clutch pack. I think they come in 3 different thicknesses, and the stock one is right in...
Best way to clean a tank is to use some sort of media inside to remove all of the loose stuff. Something with rough edges or multi-faced media works best. I personally like steel grit blasting media available at places like Northern Tool or Harbor Freight. Also use some mineral spirits to help lift the media. You can run the...

Some pressure washers have pressure check valves in the input circuit. When connected to a normal garden hose, the water pressure opens that valve and allows water to flow through. When connected to a water tank, you will have little input pressure at the end of the line. I have seen some pressure washers with this pressure valve that will...
