My brain isn't fully functioning right now. I can't even describe what's going on. There are going to be more guys than rides, but there are a few really good guys on the market, so prices are all over the place. I know plenty of riders who were free or nearly free last year who are getting good pay bumps this year. Teams like BarX, AEO, Phoenix, and Mx6 are getting aggressive to land riders who can put them in the top five or even podium.

Yaa, they also have their gncc team and a quad team I believe. I wonder if their bikes will be up to par if they get these guys, those 3 will be a step above in the speed department than the 250 riders they’ve had for the last couple of years. I know it was said that they were going to be the “official” Honda 250 team a few years ago, maybe having these guys will help solidify that. Honda needs a stronger presence in the 250 class besides Jo and Chance.

The founder of Kove does actually have a pretty cool story and is a real enthusiast. Their bikes are really touted by their owners in the dualsport world. Not a a lot of adoption but the Kove 450 rally owners seem happy. However, the founder stepped away from Kove at some point in 2023, and now has yet another company making dirtbikes called ZX Moto. What the Coenen’s are doing doesn’t seem too out of line or unusual. Of course there is risk, but there is risk training at home (see Jett). I am glad they came and hope they still race Ironman. Getting track and series familiarity for their future.
