Murph Added a reply to Which twinshock bike to get?

Clearly no-one has any advice to give you, which makes a change, so I would like to offer you my opinion on this. I would suggest a Yamaha. Suzukis are very nice but parts are getting hard to find, Kawis are even worse and Hondas are getting more expensive than Maicos. If I were in your position I would be...

No problem at all, pleased it helped you out. This manual is of no use to me as I sold my 125 a number of years ago. I forgot to include it with the bike but had no contact details for the guy who bought the bike, so it has sat in my garage ever since. If you send me...

Murph Added a reply to False neutral!

Have a ride on a mid-70s Bultaco and you will suddenly realise where the expression "false neutral" comes from. Any bike should work on a turbo trainer but it would be worth fitting a road tyre to the back wheel. A nobbly mountain bike tyre on a turbo would drive you insane very quickly. What size engine in your KX? PVL ignitions need a high cranking speed to generate a spark, so they can struggle to start big engines because of the lower cranking speed when kicked over compared to a small engine like a 125.

Pretty sure 14/46 is the standard gearing. I guess it depends on the type of track you ride. If it is tight and twisty maybe put a 48 on the back.
