Since these are cutting edge, commercial grade bikes, they're usually around $6-7k for gyms.

I talked to the Chief Marketing Officer, who's also a friend. He knows how passionate I am about Motocross. When I told him I visit this forum every day and it's like a community, he said to offer the bikes to you guys at friends and family pricing. For obvious reasons that price isn't public.

For exact pricing, warranty, etc... contact Scott Davis (sdavis@expresso.com).

I can answer any question you have about the bike.

Scott is as passionate about Surfing as we are Motocross, and rides Expresso more than almost anyone.
Our CMO is super passionate about cycling as well.

Have a great day!

Dumb question, but are there any options for my 29er mtb?
Any bike should work on a turbo trainer but it would be worth fitting a road tyre to the back wheel. A nobbly mountain bike tyre on a turbo would drive you insane very quickly.

Another option would be this: https://www.staczero.com/hero

This uses magnets to create resistance and there is no tyre contact at all.

I have a Peloton and have used an espresso bike at the gym, they are not in the same category and if you’re dropping thousands on a stationary bike do a peloton before an expresso. It’s obvious you work for them and won’t agree but that’s my opinion.

I went a little different route. I have less than 1K invested though. I bought a used specialized Allez and a set of rollers. It’s a full body workout having to balance while pedaling. Plus when the weather is nice I can ride on the road. Plans to get a concept 2 rower down the road.
This - and make sure you have someone video you trying it the first couple times so we can get some laughs! Dont cheat and put it next to a wall like this...these don't offer as much resistance as a trainer but helps smooth out your pedal stroke, after a while you should be able to ride no handed on them

Anyone want to train rollers together like these guys do? Lol

I started out cheating using a wall to get going, I can do it in the middle of my living room while watching tv now. It’s definitely more technical than you’d think. And it’s definitely low resistance but if you keep it about 100 rpm pedaling for 20 + minutes, you’ll be sweating.

They're completely different bikes. Peloton are spin bikes. Ours are not.
We also have 3 generations of bikes. The Expresso GO bike came out late 2017. It has a 27" touch screen and runs on a professional game engine. Do you know which version your gym has?

it looks like a spin bike with the addition of a gaming feature (instead of peloton's live/recorded classes and leaderboard). the gaming feature seems like what Zwift does somewhat, but you are chasing giant cats and mice instead of other bikes...

Spin bikes are fixed gear and have a flywheel. So when you stop pedaling, the cranks continue to turn.
You basically can't coast in any manner whatsoever.
It's like a bike you'd ride on a Velodrome, or the pedaling part like a unicycle.

The Expresso bike is like a normal bike with gears, and the ability to coast.

The big advantage of ours is that you can ride different tours with some in the mountains, along the coast, some flat, some with lots of climbing, and like a video game, it feels like you're actually riding there.
The resistance changes automatically as you go up or down hill.
You can also turn, so it's very interactive and immersive. I'm not sure any of the other bikes have that.
We have games as well, where you ride around collecting coins and dragons, all the while getting a great workout.
It integrates with Strava and we have leaderboards and challenges as well.

There are also a lot of new features on the roadmap for 2019 and 2020 that I'm excited about. The next feature will be announced at the IHRSA fitness conference in March.

I've personally owned roadbikes and had the stationary set ups but riding the roads just got super sketchy during the summer. Best investments ever a airbike and rower 100%Rower can be stacked up if your limited on room too, found it a far better bang for the buck

Wow there is some impressive work out rooms amongst you guys.

I've been looking to get some kind of indoor cycle for a while and lo and behold this was on the curb just a few houses down from me. Woohoo

It's great for cardio, and after turning 60 in the summer I have to start getting a lot more active to keep the ticker pumpin smooth. Getting old SUX!

Right now with it being cool outside I have it in the shop right next to the dog bed.
Nothing fancy but damn this machine kicks my ass, but I found the more I ride it the easier it gets. The wheel is a fan and the faster you go it increases drag.

Your not technically moving so performance does not come into play correct? Or am I missing something?

With Wahoo & Zwift I could race the Tour De France on a Mt. bike ?
You are correct, if you get a direct drive one, the newer ones come with all spacers for just about any kind of rear dropout. If you get an older version they still make adapters for through axle. You might be a little more efficient on a roadbike due to riding position but watts are watts, so it doesn't really matter what actual bike you're on.

I bought a Schwinn spin bike for $200.00 when one of the local gyms replaced all of theirs. My wife used to teach spin classes and I would always go up there and fix whatever broke or wore out on the bikes so doing a little maintenance and prep on this one was a no brainer. She has her setup upstairs above my garage/ workshop. Small spot for her yoga stuff, her spin bike, a good treadmill and elliptical and a Concept 2. Add in some bands, balls, weights and my downstairs torture device and we have pretty much everything we need at home. Everything except time, and for me...motivation.Blush

She has a couple TVs and music but if a change of scenery is needed and the weather is nice just open the windows.
