Brad McDonald is the owner of Vital MX and Vital MTB. He was the original guy behind Transworld Motocross, was the group publisher of the Transworld media group, and founded Ride BMX magazine in 1992. GuyB was the original Content Director for Vital MX during its inception in 2006 to the later stages of 2021. I worked at Vital MX from 2014 to the very beginning of 2019. I came back in late 2021 to take over the Director role.

I thought the semis were super boring. Only the top 5 raced hard, and if a top guy got a bad start they coasted and saved themselves for the next race. Top 9 is awesome,leads to more exciting racing.

I don't know necessarily if this is a "drop off". The series has secured sponsorship with one of the largest outdoor retailers in the country. Now the final is being held at a new concert venue owned by the same guy. Yeah maybe SMX Finals at Thunder Ridge isn't the same as the LA Coliseum or Vegas, but it's also not Comp Park II.

How is it any different from winning the O/A at an outdoor National if you go 2-2 and your competition is inconsistent?

Ya Webb has never had the pace on a 450 of others. But he still has 3 450sx titles (more than anyone else currently racing). He wins over and over by capitalizing when others slip, limiting damage on bad nights and being at every race.

Those are lots of ifs and buts. Webb won and the format allows for these kind of rides to be enough for the W if some results go your way. He really needed that, it will be interesting to see if he is able to further improve from the boost in confidence that the W results is. I do agree with you guys that he still isn't on pace with the fastest riders at the moment so he will need to improve from here.

I think the moving over was lack of experience/supercross etiquette, it's very similar to what they do in the GPs and I feel like he gave Hunter enough room so it wasn't too bad, although I fully understand why people consider it objectionable.

Listening to the pulp show on Monday, no mention of his third place performance in the second moto, no mention that he was one position away from leading going into the final moto, not a mention about him having the best sector in the whoops, and when making predictions about next weekend he said 8. It was his eleventh SX race…
