I really haven't heard the rider's complaining about Pala. The problem is for the fans...a lot of the track is just not good for viewing. Banner placement blocks everything but shoulders and helmets. Probably 1/3 of the track has no spectator access at all.
If GH can't get in as one Nationals - Why can't GH be on the list for a SMX track instead of one of the speedways. I am sure they can create a track that would work for a SMX race!
In a futile attempt to bring this back to the original topic- RV is a bad mofo, and bad mofo's like to be tested. Therefore he loves the rough and tumble GH! Those you don't like the challenge, don't. P.S.- BRING THE NATS BACK TO GH!!
I also just got the GH email referencing this forum discussion. Since they said CHIME IN WITH YOUR THOUGHTS!!! I assume they will be watching it. I say - Yes!! Bring back the GH National!! Is there a way to make this a poll?
Just saw the GH email referencing this forum chain and they make it feel like it's possibility to get GH back on the national schedule. For the greater good of the sport and continue to move it forward and grow, there needs to be an outdoor national at GH every summer. Please, pretty please, make this happen. 🙏
Absolutely 💯! Fox/Pala is a joke compared to Glen Helen. The local Indians running the Fox track hate us, you can tell by their attitude. Flat, no hills, booooring. Glen Helen is old school, REAL motocross. The people running it really try, and put pride into hosting quality events like the World Vet MX championships and the Two-Stroke World championships...
It really is a cryin' shame that Glen Helen isn't a part of the Nats. It's the last place that even resembles Carlsbad....which was where us old guys consider American moto got its legs. GH is in a really good spot for moto. Actually better dirt than Carlsbad or Saddleback and just a great outdoor vibe. (That good dirt takes a LOT of work and water). What I dig is how godawfull rough it gets in that old-school way. It's not that deep tilled loamy rough like most other tracks...it's just different. There is some cool history stuff there as...
