I agree with most of what you said except that Kenny isnt an elite guy. He was winning gps at 15, won the gp title @ 16, won a sx at 16, won 450 sx races and a mx championship in his rookie year, and almost went undefeated outdoors in 2016. Good question. I put Stewart and Tomac in the same premiere category. Both super scary fast. Under-performed on championships. Dungey is a notch ahead of them on championships alone. The guy delivered! And delivered, and delivered, and delivered. Webb is under Tomac and Bubba. Solid rider, but lacked the outdoor formula that Dungey had. Before Eli tore his Achilles in Denver, I had a crazy thought that he was fixing to go on a generational win/title run if he chose to stick around and that included overtaking MC’s win record. 73 seems like one of those things you don't hunt, but let come to you as you focus on each next race. Definitely title hunting, though.

Even if he wins, I could still see him coming back next year. He seems happier than ever, he gels with his team, they respect him and vice versa, his family goes to the races with him, his kids are getting older and can appreciate it more and I'm sure he enjoys sharing that with them. And honestly I believe he wants to battle Jett more, I think he enjoys the challenge and he really seemed to enjoy racing him last year.

I would love to see him do it. However, what is the probability? How many guys have won a single main after the age of 30? Tomac has proven to be an outlier but go back and watch James Stewart’s last win and imagine watching it live is there anyone on the planet that would have bet a single dollar that would be his last? I doubt it.

I think he's chasing the title he got robbed of... that to me is what's keeping the fire lit. On wins, it's crazy that if he gets 9 wins this year he would still need 10 next year to tie MC. Tall order!

Just my $.02. But if Eli wins the SX championship, I doubt he races next year. He wants to go out on top. I hope he does win everythin this year. He wants to redeem the championship he lost when his leg let go a couple years ago.

Everts had similar bad luck injuries, then became a world beater. Stefans take on it was they come in 3's. Jett will work it out, he's only 22. But yeah, I see what youre getting at.

Jett is 22 MC quit winning at 30. Jett has 100 starts in him yet, if he can make it to 30. Hats off to Tomac. He's still got fire at 33.

Yeah, he has improved since he started, but he's still terrible. The "salt to injury" stuff makes me laugh, not a huge deal although it's still not the kind of mistake an experienced public speaker should make. What makes him unqualified for the job is saying nonsense like "you don't want to give Roczen a lead because he's so good at managing from the front." I don’t mind RC at all. I’ve never understood all the freak out over him. I mean I didn’t forget the guy was a racer first, then wanted to do broadcasting. He’s come a long way from his 1st few times in the booth.
