Lakewood is a great race to travel to and you can make it way more than just the race. I don't know how much the broadcast showed him, but I was there today. I watched Eli like a hawk in qualifying, heats, main. The track looked amazing all the way through qualifying #2, but it was progressively drying out. Eli didn't look as fast in the heat as in qualifying but the track wasn't absolutely gone yet. But the sun came out for an hour plus and after the 250 main in particular you could see the track was so shiny and baked—it was 100% incompatible with a scoop tire. I’m currently going through the process of trying to get a minor use permit for a private training facility. My location is approximately 3 miles as the crow flies from Rattray’s old facility. My 2nd hearing was last Tuesday night. 100s of people came out in opposition and the public was allowed to talk for 3 minutes each. That portion of hearing lasted 3 hours. About 4 people spoke in favor. Rattrays was brought up so many times, I’ve never met the man but I heard so much about him in that meeting I feel like I know him personally...
