You're looking for an "agreed value". I've used Hagerty for some vintage street bikes. They may request pictures of the bike for an appraiser to evaluate if the condition stated is accurate and your value is realistic. Keep in mind that the higher insured value you want, the higher your premiums will be. Another thing to consider is that a...

We used to dye plastic parts on R/C race cars all the time. Never had any fading or other issues

Check the Prince Frederick, MD area. 20 miles from the track with several new hotels opened over the last few years. Probably the best balance of quality / price / distance. Other options mentioned: 1. Waldorf / LaPlata - Lower priced options, but also has some older sketchy hotels. You get what you pay for. 2. California / Lexington Park...

Looks to be a CR 125 tank with no major damage. That's worth something. Striping off the green and spraying it with a coat of primer would double the value.

"How many laptops do you know of that have gone up in value?" According to a recent PC World article... Apple 1sold for $666 in 1976, Current value $15K to $25K Apple 2 sold for $1,298 in 1977, Current value $15 to $250 (missing K not a typo) You just never know in the collector market, but Alta is the...

I've been watching the collectible bike market for a while and have some theories to predict where the future market is will be. Unfortunately they're about as accurate as predicting the stock market. However, you might not be wrong on the Alta. I'm just not willing to base my retirement planning on it. The out dated technology and parts availability...

Assuming you are using plastic 55 gal barrel for your water source... My barrel is mounted on a 4 wheeled wagon. I can roll it away from my pit area or refill it without moving my rig. I use it at basically ground level. I tapped a schrader valve (valve stem) from and old inner tube in the threaded bung...

Several new hotels opened in Prince Fredrick, MD. About 20 miles from the track. They all less than 5 years old so there is not a bad one. It's also the opposite direction from the majority of the traffic. Solomons Island is nice, but you'll probably pay a little more being on the water. The Tiki Bar is closed. The...
A little history lesson... When DMG won the rights to be the promoter for all AMA PRO racing, the two crown jewels where Road Racing and MX. MX Sports (DC) got the rights to the MX Nationals as basically a sub-contractor under DMG. The Road Racing side was kept by DMG and run by a guy named Roger Edmondson. Roger...

Count mine in that 90%. I keep my gas jugs right inside the door. It's gotten to be such a habit of opening the ramp and putting the gas jug on the end to keep it down that I forgot it was a problem.

There's kind of an interesting story behind Kawasaki USA's new museum. Kawasaki did in fact destroy the old factory race bikes. Apparently it was due to tax reasons. It was Norm Bigelow's job to dispose of them, but he just couldn't bring himself to crush some of them. He began hiding them away throughout Kawasaki's warehouse. In 2011 Kawasaki approved...

I'm old enough to remember almost identical comments in the late 60's about those cheap Japanese bikes. Sure wish I could have talked my Dad into opening a Honda dealership back then.

MXSports was the Steel City Promoter, and I believe they've actually taken over as the promoter for Budds Creek the last couple of years as well. I wouldn't assume that makes any track safe forever. While I hope it stays on the schedule, Budds has had financial issues brewing for years.
