nothing really close. Waldorf, Lexington. Could probably something cool in Solomon's Island. All 30 minutes away.
Look up some AirBnb's or VRBO, probably some cool houses on the river you could rent nearby the actual track.
301 Bridge is a toll road FYI, if you're staying in King George and need to cross the bridge.
If you're staying on the VA side, head up to Tim's Rivershore (Tim's 2) in Fairview Beach for dinner or Gilligan's Pier on the Maryland side of the 301 bridge.
Hey guys.. my home track. Waldorf and king George are ok. But look at solomons island. Plenty of amazing restaurants and a few really nice hotels. It’s on the water and totally enjoyable.
Staying in King George / Dahlgren, VA, it was cheap so I'm not expecting it to be that nice.
King George/Dahlgren is a good bet.
There's a Walmart plaza across the street with all the amenities around it, you know the cookie cutter plaza they do around a Super Walmart now.
The hotels are there for Defense travel to Dahlgren Naval facility. They're new. Nothing over there is over 5 years old.
There are those sketchy old school 301 motels in La Plata and Waldorf. There might be a couple decent chain ones in Waldorf.
Bear in mind if you stay on the Virginia side near Dahlgren, the toll for the bridge is EZ Pass/toll by plate, $6 when you go from MD into VA. VA to MD is no fee.
Can’t remember which town, but there are some that take you in the opposite direction of the main traffic on race day and make getting to the track easier.

That would be in the direction of Solomon's Island, Huntingtown, ect. Some hotels out that way off 5, for defense travel to PAX River Airstation.. pattern emerging..
Check the Prince Frederick, MD area. 20 miles from the track with several new hotels opened over the last few years. Probably the best balance of quality / price / distance.
Other options mentioned:
1. Waldorf / LaPlata - Lower priced options, but also has some older sketchy hotels. You get what you pay for.
2. California / Lexington Park - Lots of hotels to support PAX NAS, middle price range with typical restaurant chains.
3. Solomons Island - Very nice area with higher end eateries, priced accordingly
4. King Georges/Dalgren, VA - Probably lower priced options, but farthest from the track across a sketchy ass toll bridge. (Add an hour to your commute each way if you're coming from the north)
Back in 2012 Jonathan Beasley put me up at the Holiday Inn in Solomon’s . Lot of the teams stay there too, so never know who you may bump into.
Was an easy 30 min drive to track, no queue as you are coming from opp direction to most traffic.
Some cool bars and restaurants along the sea front.😀
I believe both times I went I stayed in California, MD. It used to be pretty reasonably priced finding a good place there, but I know hotel rates have gone up a lot recently.

Google says King George/ Dalgren is 23 minutes to the track? I'm coming from the south so I have to go over the toll bridge either way.
I got a King bed room at the Hampton Inn in Dahlgren for Friday night and it cost $170 after tax and all that bs and the website showed limited remaining rooms.
Note. If you are bringing your bike please lock it up and keep your vehicles locked if you are staying in the Waldorf, Laplata area. If your bike is in an open pick up take it in your room or keep it with your buddy at the track.

Solomons is about 40 minutes depending on traffic. Hilton Garden Inn, or Holiday Inn are your best bets over there.
California has a number of hotels, and your about 35 minutes from the track.
