After watching the race, here is how I analyse it : Jett, Hunter, Haiden and Lucas in the background puts a fast pace early on. Haiden (and Hunter as well) seems to have more speed than Jett. Track is still fast, ruts are not so deep. You can put your bike into a rut and go wide open. Deegan throwing everything he got to pass the boys. There is an ego battle here, I don't see a lot of strategy (unlike Jett vs Hunter at Hangtown moto 2). Haiden using those power lines, stays very close to Jett, almost passes...

I feel like every team, 450 and 250, need to show their riders the clip of Sacha Coenen accidentally jumping off track and INTENTIONALLY moving back to the track to clear the track markers in the corner. The majority of our American riders would have just pinned it to the nearest part of the track and shrugged it off. If you screw up bad enough that you go off track you should have a natural penalty, not just shorten it to the next “safe” entry point. Good on Sacha for showing how to correct mistakes.

Everything is possible, but I would say Lucas winning chances are higher at Southwick than Thunder Valley.

Jett got third because his shock setup was off a few weeks ago. He aint smoking anyone if the bike isnt near perfect.

Stewart did the same, quit the team, he could and they allowed it. Bike sucked. Listen to Phil on Pulp. Don't see you setting fire to James? Kawi forcing Prado to race a bike he isn't comfortable on because they have penalties in their contract not fielding riders, that is BS. Will end up like Chase, crashing out while trying. Or James. A few years ago people said Mark Marquez was unsafe and had no business even being on a moto GP track because he crashed the Honda at almost every round. Now he’s having an historic year after his switch to Ducati. Prado is not clicking with this bike in that same way Mark couldn’t with his Honda. Even after winning multiple championships on a Honda previously. I’m looking forward to seeing if Jorge can rebound going back to KTM just like Mark has after changing teams.

Last year Prado beat Guillod in GP-s usually by a minute (between 50 sec - 90 sec) , that was Guillod finishing around 8.-12. usually and Jorge was about 3-4 seconds a lap faster on his fastest laps. It might be that Guillod is much better at adapting to different conditions or that one of them actually wants to race and to do good. Considering many riders think that Prado is one of the most talented guys racing I lean more to the second option. No offence to Valentin Guillod, I think he is doing great considering his current program...

Seb Tortelli is the closest comparison to Prado that I can think of in the modern era. A premier class champ who has to learn SX in the premier class. People thought he was going to challenge Ricky outdoors, he did sometimes, but for the most part he was still ripping podiums, some wins, and a lot of top fives and tens. If Prado was doing that, everyone would be fine. He's not. He's getting 15th and 23rd without being hurt, having mechanical issues, or crashing. It's a Jorge problem, not a European rider problem, clearly. But I guess you chose to ignore the rest of the dozen European riders for a reason and picked out the one guy that's struggling. Makes a lot of sense. The 32 y/o Swiss guy with the 30 hour old suspension oil is adapting pretty well it seems.

I really hope he succeeds or at least shows some potential. The total changeup is to much i guess at this point. When testing the kawi he rode a SX bike. We all know he doesn't have much experience in that field so he doesn't have much base line reference. He was already out of his comfort zone on those tracks so figured, well this might work. it's crazy Ping even got invited considering his involvment with Yamaha, listed as a primary sponsor on his website. It wouldn't fly the same way in Europe. As far as the bike is concerned, i felt like it was a huge improvement compared to last year model, especially on the handling and the ergonomics. I'm not so much of a 450 guy, but i actually loved it. PS : Maxime Renaux, Glenn Coldenhoff, Jeremy Seewer, Arnaud Tonus and Clement Desalle rode the stock bikes among us "journalists", i can tell you they're fast in stock form
