Damn shame it isn’t Glen Helen to finish out the year!!

Seems like a lot of pessimism about having electric cars, I do like everyone's optimism that there won't be global nuclear holocaust and we might still be around in 2035 to bitch about electric cars 😀

If you compare the two bikes in the last photo, that is a clue as to how this technique disappeared over the two decades between Jonsson and McGrath: Early in 1973, Yamaha had to give Ake a pre-monoshock YZ for practice and local races because they didn't have enough of the monoshock works bikes to spare, so Ake cut & welded the frame to move the shocks up for more travel like Maico was doing. (And put on Maico forks, which did not go over well in Japan). Longer rear travel kept the rear wheel down & driving more, while...

Ah, yes, the McGrath Myth. . . . perhaps this series of photos from Ake Jonsson's 1973 book The Technique of Motocross can illustrate the prehistoric origins of soaking jumps:

LACR is a must!

Still one of the more insane displays of speed:

Don’t sneeze, don’t cough, don’t laugh and don’t fart.

One of the best championships we've had in years and the race threads are capping out at 8 pages because the racing is on a garbage channel that nobody gets and behind a paywall online. This championship deserves much better coverage than what has been given to it.

Why do you dorks have to put expectations on a kid and then argue amongst yourselves over where he'll finish?? Just let the kid get a couple of rounds under a belt and go from there, sheesh.

This dude showed up to Martin Mx in Michigan a few years ago. Backed his Grand Prix into a mud hole and called it good!

I think you answered you own question….

Yup totally my fault that flo froze to a black screen and I missed the start and most of the first lap of the first 250 moto. Or that the audio didn’t match up with the first 450 interviews. Definitely my fault that they had “no signal input” across the screen for part of the 250 second moto.
