"How can the bankruptcy judge be lenient with them?" They are in insolvency, allowing time for management sell creditors on a restructuring plan, the judge acts as an adjudicator, if the creditors don't agree, then they go into bankruptcy, that's when it becomes a fire sale, everything must go.

1/9/2025 3:53pm First, aren't the members of the race team employees also (yes). So, as in every reorganization, hard choices have to be made. Seems that a company built around competition machines needs to compete. No race team, no company, no jobs. You save the jobs you can.

They don't, they close the Austrian factory, allow dealers time to sell existing stock, restructure, and move manufacturing to India and/or China. The brand and dealer network survives, Austria remains the development center and head office.

If manufacturing did move to those places im not sure if the average ktm rider would really mind. I think it would be more the serious riders that follow what's actually going on that would really care. But what do I know 🤣

1/8/2025 5:28pm I read the entire administrator's report from the first (and to date, only) creditors meeting. He mentioned the likely sale of the MotoGP Moto2 and moto3 teams. No mention of the motocross racing program.

1/8/2025 4:18pm The whole purpose of restructuring is to permit on going necessary operations while the creditors and court figure out a plan. It's highly likely the race teams are considered necessary expenses if the company is going to continue.

Even if they do, that's gotta be a couple year process to design and manufacture, right? Not my profession but it doesn't seem like something that could be flipped over night, especially with the slower moving Japanese brands.
