My doctor told me high speed impact. I was downhill mountain biking so just wearing shoes and had to bail on a jump going 20-25mph. I landed pretty much flat and all of the impact went to my left foot. I know I would’ve been better off if I were in a moto boot but think it still would’ve been bad.

Yes.Very good observation. Local track to me charges 20$ . zero flaggers.most of the time the owner isn't even on site. All kinds of hooligan redneck shit. Beers in the pits. etc

I doubt it, at least for deaths. Spinal injuries and broken bones, etc., maybe. We had a kid in my town get injured pretty bad in a downhill race a few years ago. The pointy end of both sports are inherently different with DH/Enduro being the most dangerous, but you're racing against the clock and speeds are overall a bit...

Ranking which sports are more dangerous really misses the point. Sure, other sports and activities are dangerous too, but the issue this sport seems to have more than most is either denial or a fatalistic response instead of trying to make improvements. If you want to compare football, it's practically a different game than it was when I played high school ball in the 90's. Rules have changed, helmets have gotten better, people are wearing guardian caps, there's standardized head injury protocols, educational requirements for anyone involved, screening physicals, EMS at every game, no more two a day practices and...

We need to be mindful of the other side of this. MX kids know how to look adults in the eye and have a conversation. Something about both young and old alike struggling with the same rut or obstacle creates a common bond. MX kids know how to use tools and do basic maintenance. They also learn the downside of NOT doing it I'm the form of a DNF. MX kids know how to overcome fear and anxiety. MX kids learn deferred gratification. Wash your goggles and fill up with gas right after your moto. That way, when you lose...

Did it seem like this issue was finally resolved? I've somewhat settled on at TC125 for my next bike, but am torn between a used '22 or a '23-25. The fuel injection would be kinda nice given the wide altitude and temperature swings the bike would see.

The land where the GP was held was sold to make vacation homes, sad, because it was one of the best motocross tracks in the world and a fan and rider favorite, not only that, despite being on a remote location, a lot of spectators used to go, it was one of the most attended GPs of the Year. I think that if Luongo is willing to invest (something that he won't do) you can build a good racetrack in a flat área, look at Fox Raceway, its the worst track on the AMA Calendar but it isn't that bad...

Like gosh man I understand constructive criticism but it’s almost like a lot of these people want Triumph to fail for their entertainment rather than welcome a new manufacture that’s adding jobs and seats to the industry, so they moan and complain about everything possible. Not everyone but the portion that has that thought process seems to be very very vocal.

I used to drink a can a day in the morning (I do not like coffee). I preferred sugar free Redbull, but would drink Rockstar because they were more convenient by the case where I would buy them. I did this for probably 5 years and I began to have prostate problems which at the time, we had no idea what was causing it. I know there is only a handful of guys here that have ever had prostatis or know what prostate pain feels like (and the bathroom frequency), but it radiates to other parts of your body like...

why do we also need 5-6 commentators all talking 30 seconds each on US SMX, turns into a Talk Show with a race in the background. 2 in the booth, 1 on the floor is enough.

You think that’s good.. watch a motogp broadcast. Pure, educated, professional, and unadulterated racing coverage. Clean and effective. And hey, if the people that produce Disney on ice and monster trucks continue to run sx I’m sure they’ll continue to keep it a clown show.

Mate, nobody gives a shit about safety in this sport (unless you can sell it to the consumers and make money on it). We have riders getting knocked out in crashes and then continuing racing with helmets that are with a 99.999% certainty compromised.

Falcon Liked a reply to forum topic Wonky New Bike Pricing - What's your take?

Dealers can usually tell if you're full of crap, because many consumers say their best price is $2000 or something. (Or they say "I know what you pay for these things.") Here are some takeaways: 1) You don't know what the dealer pays for these things. Even most salespeople don't know. There are layers to the pricing. 2) That said, there's a lot less profit in MX bikes than you may think. 3) Dealers like Langston Motorsports, who are really awesome people, have to play the game too. Otherwise, they'll get swallowed up by bigger stores that started the game...

I hope this day comes. The bullshit $400 "Dealer prep" really crushes my soul. $400 for someone to install the front wheel and handlebars... but I still have to grease the linkage and head tube, and add more oil to the air filter before the first ride. Buying direct would make the process much more straightforward, too. Give me the flat price and I'll buy. I don't want to haggle with a salesperson, but I also don't want to get ripped off with hidden fees.

Yep I have a similar story. One of the most respected small dealers in Massachusetts was told by KTM to build a new store to house more product or they were going to take the line away. Of course they took the line away because the dealer can't afford to build a new building. A lot of people around here are pissed off because these owners are extremely nice and have done amazing things for people in the clutch. So the result is KTM has one less dealer now than they had before and they have more product than they...

The talk of them needing entry level bikes is very true and actually reminds me of a video I saw on one of those moto meme pages of chase ripping a pit bike on an sx track that looked exactly like what a ktm 110 4 stroke would look like. It made me stop and think like wait a minute ktm doesnt have mini 4 strokes…. Does it? So I went and checked since I hadnt looked in a long time and who knows maybe they had released one. They hadnt. Other than the electric stuff their entry level stuff...

I’ve personally never asked for price breakdown or believed the tag on the bike. Ask or call your dealers within what you believe is a reasonable driving distance their OTD price and go from there. I also pay attention to how they act on the phone or in person. I don’t care if your bike is $200 cheaper, if you’re an asshole I’m not buying. I generally go three hours to WV because they don’t play games and the prices are always on point.

For those with the '23 and '24 models, have the rolling ECU flashes fixed the bogging and cutout issues for you? There's a '23 TC125 near me that I have my eye on, but I don't want to pick it up if a simple flash can't fix the issues.
