jsmx97 Added a reply to YZ GP #808 Wiseco Piston in 08 RM250
3/25/2016 6:27am Measurement from the top of the wrist pin hole to the top of the piston crown is the same between stock RM250 piston and 808m06640 YZ250 racers choice piston ( I did not write the measurement down, sorry). Some additional reassurance, every engine I rebuild whether it has all oem parts or not I check squish clearance... I've installed that...

jsmx97 Added a reply to Who is a reputable KX450F cyl head porter....?
3/23/2016 11:01am DASA Racing was doing the cylinder heads for TwoTwo Motorsports, and in the past for Yamaha of troy and other teams...so probably a good option there. There a lot of good grinders out there, you probably won't be disappointed by any of the big names.
jsmx97 Added a reply to YZ GP #808 Wiseco Piston in 08 RM250
3/23/2016 10:49am I can look back in my notes to confirm, but I am almost positive that piston is the same height. I have used them many times in 06-08 RM250's... they work great! We were seeing issues with the center power valve wearing slightly and contacting the upper piston ring on a stock RM piston, was never an issue with the...

jsmx97 Added a reply to CL add KR's bike, legit!?
2/12/2016 9:48am I guess i'm the one that gonna have to go ahead and say it... That is absolutely not a factory bike. It may be a replica that orginally came from RCH, but there is no chance that bike has any of the good parts on it.
jsmx97 Added a reply to Cylinder head mounts wont line up after top end rebuild
1/7/2016 6:04am Silly question but you do know they are different left to right, correct? Your frame could be stretching... one of the problems with aluminum frames. How many hours would you say are on your bike?
jsmx97 Started a new thread Opinions wanted: Motorcycle dynos
12/31/2015 5:50am Hey all, For those who have experience with owning/using a Dyno, what brand or type do you prefer? I have had some limited dynojet experience in the past, but I would really like to hear from people who operate them frequently. I am looking to add one to my shop. So far I believe I will be choosing between: -dynojet...

12/3/2015 6:51am I haven't had that great of luck with mine. Have tried it on carburetors using 50/50 water + simple green OR straight simple green. Heat set to 40 deg C seems to work better for me than full heat, which has discolored carburetors. I bought one of the cheap ebay ones... Im sure the more expensive commercial ones do a...

11/25/2015 7:09am I think Sanner really did try. Obviously he was pulling money from the retail company to try to fund the race team, which I would say led to both entities demise'. Hopefully he can bounce back and make good on some wrong doings between him and some of his customers at some point. He clearly was a great engine builder.
jsmx97 Added a reply to 01 Honda CR125r | OEM except No Base Gasket - .030
11/20/2015 5:46am I would suggest milling the cylinder base to achieve the spec you want once you find a combination you like. I would not rely on yamabond for a long term base gasket seal. Kudos for trying something different!
jsmx97 Added a reply to Using stock gaskets on a BIG BORE KIT, can it be done?
11/13/2015 2:47pm Its crucial to have the proper bore size head gasket.

11/11/2015 5:55am Here is what I do: 1.) Grease swingarm, linkage, steering neck, brake pivot, and axles 2.) Anti-seize chain adjuster bolts 3.) Re-oil Air filter, Suzuki uses very little on their new bikes! 4.) Install an hour meter. Many companies offer a wireless version now 5.) Clean your brake rotors. The factories spray a protective film on them for shipment to...
jsmx97 Added a reply to Can any motor builder help?
11/2/2015 10:06am There are far too many variables to give you a direct answer to your question. Are they the same year? What engine components were replaced in each bike? What brand parts were used? Always a possibility something was install incorrectly by the engine builder... only real way to check would be to tear down and inspect
jsmx97 Added a reply to Factory RIder Selling Gear on Ebay
10/29/2015 10:20am If he wants to sell his old used gear on eBay then so be it. He is not taking anything away from dealers, he stated in each ad that the items and in pre-owned lightly used condition. If a dealer doesn't have anything to be more concerned with than a guy selling two helmets and a pair of boots, they...

jsmx97 Started a new thread Installing exhaust on 2016 KTM 450sxf
10/1/2015 2:22am All I can say is have fun getting the stock header pipe off the bike. Some advice for those that end up having to do it. You have to remove the shock to do it without bending the stock header pipe. To remove the shock, you have to remove the subframe. There is no way around it. Dont waste time...

jsmx97 Added a reply to Installing exhaust on 2016 KTM 450sxf
9/18/2015 6:19am I would say I will try that again next time, but thankfully the FMF system does not require a rediculous process lol To clarify... I removed the subframe bolts and left the airbox boot clamped on to the throttle body. So technically the subframe was not removed... just moved. I installed the FMF 4.1 w/ megabomb headed. I rode the...
jsmx97 Added a reply to valve replacement??
9/24/2015 10:46am The valve seats do not always have to be cut. It does not matter if you use TI or SS valves. What matters is the seat to valve contact area and width. If the seat is pitted, chipped, or hard to decipher the 45 deg sealing angle; you should at least have it inspected by a local shop or engine...
