This is probably the best solution I have seen yet. Hopefully DC takes a look and takes it into consideration. I respect his opinion greatly, and I'm sure he knows more about the inner workings of the sport than any one of us, but I think this deserves some thought.

I have an 06 rc edition and those forks are definitely not stock. From how dark the leg is, it looks like it might have a DLC coating or something, not to mention what it might have internally.

No, definitely not, what I was referring to was the brand of oil. I break my bikes in with Chevron two cycle oil since it is carbon based. Hopefully that clears up any confusion, sorry if I wasn't clear on that.

I always break my bikes in using carbon based oil (chevron) so the rings seat properly. As stated above, give it at least a few full heat cycles before you really pound on it. I also try to keep load on the motor as much as possible when riding.

Dude, check your power band. They go bad after a while or it may not have been properly installed during the top end change.
